Re: Found a JX-3P at my Local Music Store... Thinking...

LOL, yeah, that's pretty much it. Good story, by the way. :D Thank you for the tips also, will keep those in mind. It seems that the Rest and Tie ("legato") buttons light up and respond when they are pressed, but the Start/Stop and write buttons aren't lighting up or responsive. Hmmmm.... I'm really...

Re: Found a JX-3P at my Local Music Store... Thinking...

Huh. I opened it up, and saw some issues I wanted to adress. I moved some wires around, and roughly tacked it back together and the LED problem is not happening anymore. I opened another can of worms though, becuase now the sequencer section is totally unresponsive. As far as I know, the rest works ...

Re: Found a JX-3P at my Local Music Store... Thinking...

Thank you everyone for your input, it is VERY valuable to me. Zayne, I really sorta blew up a little bit on you, and I apologize. I tend to not think at all when I'm frustrated with a problem... :( I'm sorry for that, and in the end I value your input. Thank You. :D Pro5, you know what that is EX-AC...

Re: Found a JX-3P at my Local Music Store... Thinking...

Didn't you just buy it? Did you even try playing it in the store, or at least turning it on?! I'm pretty sure Roland makes the manual/schematics/service notes available for all their old stuff. Might want to check their website for the manual. Then, try to reset it. If that doesn't work, see if you...

Re: Found a JX-3P at my Local Music Store... Thinking...

Huh. Well not only the LED's are acting funny now (I guess the other LED's DO light up, it's just that they're VERY dim), the sound of it is degrading a bit now. Again, good thing I have that warranty. It's like the tuning is going all funky now also. Something bad is happening to my new synth, and ...

Re: Found a JX-3P at my Local Music Store... Thinking...

Congrats! That's a great deal for a great synthesizer! If you're interested I have a PG-200 for sale for $250 CAD. I highly recommend you keep an eye on this upcoming upgrade for the JX-3P , and note the Organix' Toolshed JX-3P MIDI upgrade has gone back in to production. Thanks, I appreciate that!...

Oh wait, I guess I never made it clear, I traded my MM6 for it, plus $20, but still... yeah, pretty good deal. I'm about ready to clean this thing up now, polish it an things with a LITTLE bit of Goo Gone to give it some shine, but no wax build up. :D :geek:

Re: Found a JX-3P at my Local Music Store... Thinking...

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The space in between the keys has some s**t in it, and the overall thing is kinda dusty around the screws, and there's double-sided tape on it. Also there's a screw bouncing around on the inside (or worse....), all issues I plan on taking care of with goo-gone, soap and or ...

Re: Found a JX-3P at my Local Music Store... Thinking...

Alright I got it. It came with a one year warrenty, had to add $20 into the mix to convince the manager. I got a JX-3P for $20!! It works perfectly, to my knowledge. I figured out the sequencer (fun, easy, inspiring), Haven't touched on MIDI yet, but it's just note on/off, the transpose function wor...

Re: Found a JX-3P at my Local Music Store... Thinking...

Haha, alright thanks for the input you guys. Now that I have the manual, I think it's time to go back, mess with it some, following the manual (I'm doing this mainly for the sequencer, as it seemed a bit sketchy to me), and just testing it. h**l, I might not even bring the manual, this thing is eas...

Found a JX-3P at my Local Music Store... Thinking...

Ok I found a Roland JX-3P at my local music store today, and I dig the sound of it. Sorta like a Juno, but CHEAP. I know MIDI is limited, but note-on and off is something I can deal with. Just hook it to any sequencer and I'm in bussiness. It doesn't have the programmer, but everything seems to be i...

Re: Just Got a TR-505, Testing It Out And Have A Few Questio

You're making this very complicated. You can trigger the 505 via its MIDI in and have velocity modulate the volume. So you can ignore the onboard sequencer and treat it like a drum module, recording your patterns into the sequencer on the MM6. Personally I find a computer based sequencer is vastly ...

Re: Just Got a TR-505, Testing It Out And Have A Few Questio

Ok, I think I just answered my own question (#1). It IS a budget machine, and so why would anyone want to d**k around with a high end midi controller to record patterns on this thing? You use this thing with a midi controller PLUS a sequencer (or a midi controller with a built in sequencer like the ...

Just Got a TR-505, Testing It Out And Have A Few Questions

Hey all, haven't posted in a while, but I'm back and upgrading my gear. I got a Roland TR-505 (I know, alright? "Upgrading to a TR-505" should NEVER work, but I did it anyway), you know just for a nice Detroit/Chicago-Style-Acid-House-Drum-Machine-Sound. It sounds a lot like a minature TR-707 and TR...
