Re: Dinsynk conundrum (606 and 707)

I remember having a similar issue last time I did this. IIRC, I had better luck using the 606 as master and 707 as slave. But the 707 has to already be in pattern play mode, or needs to be powered up after the 606. or something. Sorry I dont have better info for you but I dont have either unit in fr...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?

I don't understand why people are disappointed. Korg did all the leg work, took what people wanted, a simple bassline and drum machine, designed the circuits with discrete components and stuffed it all into a portable piece of kit. This thing begs to be modded, it seems to me they did all the hard p...

Re: CS-15 power supply electrolytic replacement

They're not burnt, just old electrolytics that need replacing. I will do the work myself, but I am sort of just whining now because I'm not sure yet how I'm going to mount 6mm caps to the regulator board. It will take great precision and care not to burn me or the caps while getting some extra wire...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?

If you read down the comments on the Sonic State video you'll see: Christopher Said... Hi there, indeed, it was very early today wednesday and I had a misunderstanding bout the pricetag. List price is in fact 237€ here in Germany. Sorry for that! We got to see the brandnew prototype only the day bef...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?

Korg wins in my book, they took the awesome monotron a few steps further and this thing is going to a great jam piece. Its also got nice space available for modding, with discrete drum circuits, tone mods are inevitable. I will certainly be getting one or more of these, even if its regarded as just ...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?

Looks like a few more details are out now.. http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2011/04/05/korg-monotribe-details/ According to Korg, the Monotribe shares the Monotron’s analog DNA, but delves deeper into the rich, organic, and often chaotic world of analog synthesis. In addition to analog synthesis, ...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?

If there's no proper cv/gate what kind of results are people getting when running cv/gate into a modded monotron? I was under the impression that once tuned, using the pitch knob, they tracked just like any other oscillator. Is this wrong?

Re: Korg Monotribe ?

By the size of it and the fact that there is a 'Synth' button next to the drum buttons, makes me think that there are 4 monotrons inside. Which ever button you have lit at the time is what the interface is controlling. If that is true then there should be a huge range of possibilities for this thing...

Little Phatty keys turning yellow

So I bought this thing last year and noticed a slight yellowing of the keys then. Now it seems to be getting worse for no good reason. I don't believe it was smoked around in it's previous life but it sure hasn't been since I've owned it. When it's not being used it sits inside the moog soft case an...

Re: Modular duophony + analog keyboard splitting

Would it be possible to run the cv from a mono keyboard into a splitter and then put a variable resistor on one of the outputs to reduce the voltage to the desired octave? This seems like it should be possible..
