Vintage Voltage - Germany to UK

I'm about to buy a vintage synth from a seller in Germany. Will I be able to use it okay on UK mains supply?! I don't want to plug it in & watch it start smoking! Never bought anything from Europe ..... well, nothing vintage at least. I'm not sure what the deal is with power requirements/supply.

Re: What got you into synths?

Jean Michael Jarre. My best mates brother dropped a copy of Rendesvous on our laps one day & I nearly s**t myself!! :o I'd always been into electronic sounds but before Jarre I never really knew much about synths. Jarre had the names of the synths he used on the back of his albums so I started getti...

Re: getting too caught up in tech

I've just discovered artist Moon Wiring Club who apparently makes all his music on a copy of Music on the Playstation 2 along with MTV music generator 2001!! His music is some of the most interesting & enjoyable Electronica I've heard in a while. He certainly doesn't get caught up in too much tech. ...

Re: getting too caught up in tech

I think you're talking about gear lust! It effects us all!! I love it ....... and I hate it at the same time. Boys & their toys. There's always a new synth or other piece of kit that absolutely must be added to our set-ups. I've been toying with the idea of getting hold of a vintage string synth for...

Re: Guess the synth

Hadn't noticed this thread before. Please don't let the lack of guesses discourage you from doing quizzes like this again. It's fun stuff. I ran this on about 5 forums in total & got a fair few replies across all of them. Has been very interesting seeing everyones answers. I don't think anyone got ...

Guess the synth

Just a bit of fun really. Also running this on a few other forums (Propellerheads, K-v-R, & GearSlutz). 2 audio files. 1 with a single oscillator set to square wave. Patch settings as similar as possible on each synth. The second file has the same patch settings with the synths used in the same orde...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Gear lust has once again set in with the news of the SEM-Pro. That's what I always wanted because I never quite made my mind up between the MIDI>CV or patch version (with a Kenton converter) and as such ended up buying neither!
