Re: What will be the best synthesizer....

The Roland Jupiter-8 2010 ... there are actually quite a few rumors going around that Roland is announcing a "Jupiter" at the Winter NAMM in California. Given what Roland did with the 'SH-201' or the new 'Juno' I'd say they couldn't build a decent new Jupiter anymore than I could! Another poster sa...

I found this online;

http://www.dutycalculator.com/

Not sure how accurate this is but it worked out at just over £100. I can live with that ;)

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

The shipping company Fedex or whoever call you and tell you how much you owe - based on the item value + their handling/processing fee. Once you pay it - they deliver. Simple. I see. Never gone through this sort of process before. Maybe I just got lucky previously? Is it just when ordering from the...

How does that work with the customs charges? I've never got stung for that before when ordering stuff from abroad. First time for everything I suppose :(

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

is there anywhere in europe you can get a new SEM? Nope. At present it's exclusive to AudioMIDI. And I don't think that's likely to change any time soon - The units are hand built & AudioMIDI already have a big back log to catch up with. It will be a while before I get mine that's for sure. Apparen...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

I think they had a good idea with the Telemark (before TO even did), but I have simply never heard anything good said about AS, so it would take a lot of convincing to want a Telemark these days when the original is right there too. Even if they sounded identical, I think most people would opt for ...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

And now that Tom is making SEMs again, who in their right mind would buy a knock off version that costs a few hundred dollars more than the real thing? Even with the increase in price of Tom's SEM, the AS version is still a few hundred more. To throw political correctness aside ... you'd have to be...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

you would be insane to get a telemark... the sem sounds a lot better and people have reported faults with the telemark and semblance build quality :) I came to the same conclusion. I liked the look of the Telemrak very much. But I've ended up going for the Oberheim SEM MIDI>CV module. Ordered it la...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Sounds great. I want one! I haved been sizing up the Analogue Solutions Telemark, which is based on the SEM. But now I'm thinking about the Real deal Oberheim SEM. I'd like to get the CV/Gate version but I don't have a CV source so I guess I'd have to get a Kenton MIDI > CV converter to go with it.

Re: NEW DSI Tetr4 -4 voices of Mopho In a Box!

my only real gripe is that the seq is only 16 steps , but thats always a gripe for me . if it works like the evolver, you can use LFOs at 16/1 or 32/1 to modulate the sequenced parameters, giving you what seems like more than 16 steps Yes you can do that with the Tetra (just read that part in the m...
