Re: Raffle for minimoog signed by Gary Numan
I have to admit that at times, I have sort of scoffed at the Numan worship that is happening in the world, especially in England. On this very forum, I have at some point done a lot of eye-rolling about it. But when I found out that he was coming to Mountain Oasis, I had a sort of revelation about ...

Re: Raffle for minimoog signed by Gary Numan
When Gary Numan appeared on Saturday Night Live in January 1980, there were five Minimoogs in his band (I was surprised that this is not on Youtube, at least I couldn't find it there). Here is Gary Numan's performance of Cars on SNL. I was unable to find a clip of their second song Praying to the A...

Re: Raffle for minimoog signed by Gary Numan
I am a little surprised by the negativity to be honest. There is a minimoog up for offer, possibly for as little as $20. If you don't have an interest, then you are not compelled to participate. The fact that it is signed by Gary Numan, who tweeted Finished our set at Mountain Oasis. Fantastic react...

Akai S5000 - Questions regarding storage.
Hi, Apologies if this has been discussed previously (though most threads seem to be old and therefore do not possibly have the newest solutions). I have recently purchased a S5000, thankfully very cheaply, but it is basically the standard model, no RAM expansion etc. Looking through old threads, the...

Re: New analog boxes from Korg?
My order has just been pushed back to 10/04/2013 ! I spoke to them on the phone yesterday, as they cancel your preorder otherwise after a certain amount of time, and no mention of that! Musician's Friend? That happened to me last year with my MiniBrute, but I raised h**l with them and they put me b...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
That website at times is hilarious.
You get the same people just repeating themselves without ever trying or owning the equipment they are discussing, and without adding anything new to the discussion.
Definition of beating a dead horse!

I always thought most of the stuff Trevor Horn did with Frankie was Fairlight orientated.

Re: Gary Numan - the pleasure principle, best phaser ever?
According to all the 'internet sources' it is indeed a MXR Phase 100.
You can hear it all over Numan's synth sounds from the late 70's to early 80's, and certainly sounds sweet!

Re: Some thoughts on the Arp Odyssey
Back in 1979, Billy Currie was one of the musicians in Gary Numan's touring band. Numan made an odd choice in doing a version of the well known song On Broadway. The best part of this live recording is Billy Currie's wicked sounding Arp Odyssey solo. At 1:57 the Odyssey kicks in, and it doesn't sto...

Re: DSI announces Prophet 12!
In every video I have seen DS describes it as the best of the Prophet 08 and the best of the PEK with a bunch of new and additional features.
