Re: anyone else be interested in an Arturia Minibrute module

Think any 2 octave keyboard lends itself to a rack version.
If you end up controlloing it with another keyboard, what purpose does its keys serve?

Re: Korg Mini MS-20

Couldn't agree more!
The new Prophet 12 thread on GS is a great example of that.
Seems to be more about the signal path to some than what their ears are telling (or should be) them.
Hope and trust this doesn't start off a digital/analog slug fest on here!

Re: Korg Mini MS-20

What do you make of this? Back and smaller than ever, Korg's MS-20 mini analog synthesizer revives the legendary MS-20 synth in all of its glory, but at 86% of the original size. This is no copycat knockoff either - the MS-20 mini is nearly identical to the original, with the same analog oscillator...

Re: G. Numan drops wise words - old vs new - blahblah

Numan would also be totally embarassed by the fact that anyone took what ever he said about synths too seriously. He is a very modest guy, who doesn't buy in to the 'hype' about him being the Godfather of synth music. He always says he 'might' have opened the door, but then others that were better t...

Re: G. Numan drops wise words - old vs new - blahblah

I remember listening to 'Are Friends Electric?' in 1979 on the radio while it was still climbing up the charts, and feeling like I had listened to music for the first time! Watching 'Top of the Pops' that week and being totally hooked! It might be hard for the U.S posters to appreciate, but by the t...

Re: the fairlight synthesizer

Didn't the Mirage come out in 1984? Also, why has Naked Eyes fallen out of the memory of history? They were from Bath, but English people never talk about them. They used the Fairlight EXTENSIVELY, and had at least one or two hits in the States. by looking at this Wiki I guess it is not that surpri...

Re: Guess the synth: OB-X or Prophet 5

yes I am, I will have to take a listen to that extra sound. The problem with thses test is vanity! Everyone likes to think they are an expert so there is an excuse with poor youtube compressing, headphones are c**p etc! I really couldn't care less if I only got 1 right, its just fun after all! And k...

Re: Guess the synth: OB-X or Prophet 5

For the record I have never owned or played a Obie, but did own a Propet 10, so it is based more off what sound I think the P5 is capable of! 1. Ghosts a) P5 b) P5 c) P5 d) OB-X 2. Canton a) OB-X b) P5 3. Visions Of China a) OB-X 4. Sons Of Pioneer a) P5 b) OB-X 5. Cantonese Boy a) OB-X b) P5 c) P5 ...
