Juno 60 Help!

My adored Juno 60 is acting up. I have looked around and not been able to find any info on this, maybe I am just not describing the problem correctly. The problem is intermittent and will go away for days at a time and then come back. I have not been able to figure out what triggers it. The synth es...

Studio Moniters In NYC

I am looking for a good place to go to buy studio monitors. A place with a good selection knowledgeable staff and that is preferably in lower Manhattan. If any one can offer any advice I would really appreciate it. I am specifically interested in Adam monitors and can't find any distributes in the c...

Re: Esq-1 "System error"

Thanks, I have tried the soft reset, but it still only shows "system error". I have also already poked around the inside. I probably should have mentioned that I opened it up before I ever turned it on. The keyboard has many keys that don't work so I thought I would check the key contacts and such. ...

Esq-1 "System error"

I just bought an ESQ-1 not less than two hours ago, it took me that amount of time to start getting some cool sounds out of it. As soon as I made a patch that I liked I tried to save it and the words "system error" popped up on the screen. I tried restarting it to no avail (system error is the only ...

Re: next?

Price range is very Important... but from what you have said it sounds like you are going for reasonable cost, good quality. What I would recomend: Moniters: Mackie Mr5/MR8 (depending on your needs) Tapco s 5/s 8 (also depending on your needs) Genelec (if your feeling like spending money) I use a Ma...

Re: Xpander Vs SunSyn vs ???

Thank you very much for you input. They way you laid out the strengths and weaknesses of each unit really allowed me to see what is most important to me. Though I am most passionate about programing both units have sufficient capability for modulation. Even if the xpander has more modulation capabil...

Re: Xpander Vs SunSyn vs ???

I know you can do percussive sounds with the ramp generator on the Xpander. The examples I have heard are quite impressive actually. The fact that the Sunsyn has such modulation capacity and so much of that power is available from the front panel is a big point of interest for me. But the Xpander, d...

Re: Xpander Vs SunSyn vs ???

And yes I have done LOTS of research, the main reason I am asking questions here Is for opinions of owners of these synths. Opinions on sound, layout, capabilities, versatility, and reliability. Not to mention over all enjoyment of the machine. These are things that are not simple facts that i can r...

Re: Xpander Vs SunSyn vs ???

I agree with you, I was actually referring to the Oberhiem 4 voice, and Korg ps series. A see now how that was not clear in my sentence.

Re: Xpander Vs SunSyn vs ???

I figured I would have to send the Sunsyn in to have it upgraded. And am aware of their value both version 1.__ and 2.0. As for the Xpander's reliability I have heard mixed testimonies. I have heard many of the problems are mainly associated with the Japanese version. I have also heard that they are...

Re: Xpander Vs SunSyn vs ???

I have naturally considered all of those. One of my big issues is also maintenance(obie/korg). As good as a 4 voice sounds it would probably be cheaper and easier to 4 new patchable SEMs and rig them to a keyboard. And i still wouldn't have nearly the modulation capabilities for the money(sunsyn). I...
