Re: What piece of gear got your mojo back?

Having a modular cures any creativity or enthusiasm block. If you don't enjoy playing with a modular, you obviously need a new hobby. This, sort of, but I vastly prefer virtual modulars to the real thing, because modern convenience. I would recommend to anyone that has $400 to drop on a micromodula...

Re: tube tone generator as VCO

Ask this in the gear section of the chondritic sound (aka noisefanatics.com) messageboard. There's a dude there who mostly uses a bunch of old tube function generators and oscillators and works on them and would probably be able to help you.

Is there a way to get samples into those quickly and easily from a modern computer?

Re: Stereo Analog Filter...Suggestions?

Jomox m-resonator? If you can figure out how to use an M-Res for subtle tone shaping, then you are the #1 scientist of M-Resonation in the universe. All I could figure out how to do with it was ruin drum loops (this is a positive thing). Filter Queen/Factory would do it, but it seems like a waste t...

Re: Synths in the City

+1 that Rogue is cool. Check their website for a current list of what gear they have in. Also great to trade with. Got my Filter Factory and RS-3 there.

I've never gotten a bad vibe in Main Drag, but I've never bought anything there, either.

Re: Novation Zero mk2 Vs. Behringer BCR2000

I have the original remote zero and the drum pads feel really lame to me, especially compared to something like a trigger finger. Build quality feels solid to me.

Sorry haven't touched a mk2 or the behr so I can't compare those.

Re: TR-808 vs. JOMOX 888 (update bought the 808!)

You're going to bring an 808 out with you for Live PA? Bold. That is still debateable, even though I've known a few friends to take vintage gear out and with the proper precautions have been fine, model d's etc. But yes, I will hold a large umbrella of caution over this unit before it leaves with m...

Live PA BATTLE SET of breakcore/industrial sounds

This was from a live show I did last weekend versus Digit216. He ran a bunch of beats/loops from ableton into my mixer, and I processed the living daylights out of it using my Nord G2 Engine and some pedals and mini-KP, and also added synths on the top from the G2. It was a blast. http://www.immigra...

i actually bought the library i started the thread about - and its real f**k good. I think the reason to have 1700 samples in the collection isn't so that everyone who is using that pack will go through them looking for JUST THE RIGHT ONE every time they need a sample, but so that the pack is...

Re: Kurzweil VS V synth VS Turbosynth VS Ensoniq

Hey all, sample mangling Serious question: What does this mean? I see this phrase a lot, and it's often used as though everyone reading it will know what it means. I don't know what it means. I've worked with samplers for years and I've done things to change the things I've sampled (FX, stretching,...
