Re: Filter Boxes
2 MAM Warp 9s if you can find them. They go for less than $200 each, and they have MIDI triggering of env for VCA or VCF, an LFO, lots of weird LFO/ENV routing modes, and sound rad to me. They aren't terribly expensive, but they are fairly rare. I'm bidding on one on ebay right now (I've always want...

Re: What's your "must have" synth?
You should definately look into the SY77/99. These synths gave me an idea that Yamaha should implement the FM engine from FS1r in their next generation Motif, however, not in the form of a plugin card with crippled editing. Instead they should utilise the big touchscreen that will surely be there t...

Re: Suggestions for all-in-one outboard effects unit?
Sorry to highjack, but i too am looking for a multifx unit, but my needs are slighty different. I perform live dance music and i want something i can tweak live over my nl3 as well as use in the studio with a 106 and blofeld. So preferably needs to be compact, not glitch when tweaked and have dedic...

Agree. Definitely put some SR16 samples in your ES-1.space6oy wrote:SR16 also IMO has pretty great live drum type samples.

Re: First Drum Machine?
If you can handle working with samples, the Korg ES-1 loaded with samples of any drum machine you want (they are all easily findable on the internet) will do you, plus give you a really nice sequencer and lots of manipulation capabilities. It's what I wish I had as my first drum machine.

Re: What's your "must have" synth?
1. What synth/keyboard is your all-time favorite and why? 2. If you could ONLY have ONE synth/keyboard, what would it be? 1. Nord G2 Engine. It does everything/anything. 2. Expanded G2 Engine. It does everything/anything more. I suppose if I'm not allowed to have MIDI controllers, I'd make those ke...

New vids featuring OT.
Elektron Presents The Trinity, Part I
Elektron Presents The Trinity, Part II
These videos don't really show much. My cautiously optimistic curiousity about the Octatrack remains unchanged.

1) I'm beyond impressed at what you've already identified.
2) Please don't take this the wrong way, but why in the world are you doing this?

Re: Your Synth Setup is now Extinct!
Nord G2 Engine--> Blofeld (saying a G2 keyboard would be cheating)
Mini-KP --> Without cheating by listing a different kaoss pad? Uh, DL-4?
Warp 9 and RS-3 --> CS01 Mk II
Pedals --> build more pedals
MIDI controllers --> other MIDI controllers

Re: Nord Modular G2
I used to have a couple of micromodulars (G1) and upgraded to a G2 engine. I expected I could just pick up where I left off, but they are pretty different platforms with appreciably different sound and capabilities. I prefer the G2, though. I've had no regrets about the change. There's a lot more ve...

Re: alpha juno hoover crew
I know this is an ancient thread, sorry, but I have a question and it's probably not worth making a new thread for it. How exactly is the PWM on the sawtooth wave implemented in the alphas? Based on the MKS-50 manual it looks like the saw is multiplied by a sync'd pulse-wave at double the frequency ...

Re: A Sampling Newbie has Some Questions
Don't know anything about Logic or ESX24, so I can't help you there, but the thing I use to sample audio from DVDs or streaming video or whatever is a program called wiretap pro. It records whatever audio is going on on the computer, so you just play your video and hit the record button when the par...

Re: Effect section in Roland SP-606 as stand-alone?
Told you, sonne. #1 Dad.
@Hugo: Sp606 is much bigger than KP-3 and also its really annoying trapezoidesque shape makes it hard to put in a rectangular box with other rectangular objects.
