Re: Boss DR-55 or DR-110?

I think the price seems high, for what they are. But I guess that's the market. From what i've seen the dr110 generally goes for more $$, don't know it though. I love the dr-55, sounds really nice. it's a bit limited though. If you can find one a cr-8000 would be perfectly suited to the job too. Mor...

Re: Drum Machine Advice

any mpc would be a good choice with the modern ones being more friendly with files from the computer.

otherwise the korg esx is a nice drum machine sampler that's easy and fast and fun to use if you don't mind some limitations.

Re: sequencers with different length options

i'll have a little manual scout of the rm1x and rs7000 now and see if it would work...

rm1x looks pretty cheap these days.

Re: sequencers with different length options

long winded ^

he said step lengths (as in polyrhythmic sequencing), like having 3 sequences playing at different steps.
ie: seq-1: 16 steps, seq-2: 8 steps, seq 3: 12 steps.

yes, that's what i mean. the mmt8 doesn't do it unfortunately.

Re: What is my best option after Electribe esx-1?

+++plus+++ you should also look at looping pedals and the like (lexicon jamman, oberheim echoplex, EH 16 second delay) someone else might know the current models, I know there's lots of newer ones). really nice for building soundscapes. again they're not stand alone solutions but making music and ge...

Re: What is my best option after Electribe esx-1?

You mention Fennesz. As far as I know and the last time I saw him play, he's using a laptop and guitar. maybe some other bits and pieces. Max-Msp with ableton 8 or reaktor would be your best bet. Could be a bit time-consuming to learn though. Nord modulars are great and pretty easy to use (both vers...

Re: sequencers with different length options

Thanks for the info, I have a friend's MMT8 here at the moment, i just assumed it wasn't possible. Will check it out now...

I am just having a look at Numerology, which is excellent but it would be great to be able to do it with hardware.

sequencers with different length options

Hmm, not easy to put into a topic header... I am looking for a cheapish (hardware) sequencer that allows multiple patterns of different step lengths for strange evolving polyrhythmic stuff. So far the options seem to be the Spectral Audio cyclus3 Midibox seq. If there are any others that allow this ...

Re: sh 101 question

hi,

the speed is the same, however when you trigger the sequencer externally the random waveform is synced also to the external trigger. but only the random waveform.

it's very cool!

jx-3p/pg200 woes

It's my first post so hello everyone. It's an info seeking one (i suppose it won't be the first ;) ) I have been having annoying problems for a few days with my jx3p and-or the programmer. 1- It seems that suddenly the programmer will only send switched data to the jx. the knobs don't work but the s...
