Re: Making Evolver Sound Analog

I think the new DSI products are definitely worth owning - BECAUSE of their different character I guess that is where my thinking stops too...I don't understand why you'd buy something new that is designed to stand on it's own, but expect it to emulate another synth. I understand the same guy is be...

Re: Making Evolver Sound Analog

I'm not being a smart a*s here - but wouldn't you want your pro one to sound like a pro one, and your mono evolver to sound like a mono evolver? If they sounded the same...what would be the point in owning both?

Re: Steve Moore

Sorry, bringing this back from the dead - just found this thread while trolling around for more info on one of my all time favorite bands, Goblin. Never heard of Steve Moore or Zombi - but goddamn, this Gutterballs score is INCREDIBLE! Its sonic weight is impressive. Exactly the type of engineering...

Re: DJ Software for Mac Similar to MixMeister

That mix isn't too bad...I personally LOVE this one with b.i.g. in it, and when berlin kicks in...f**k h**l thats sweet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AA4xY8RrDpA But as for mash-ups... the master of mash-up's latest album has many great moments, it doesn't get much better than this 6+ minute mix t...

Re: DJ Software for Mac Similar to MixMeister

Is there something about the $70 Express version of MixMeister that makes it unusable? I just downloaded the demo of that, and am playing with it as we speak...so far it seems fine. I think I might just go with it, as it keeps all the key features I want - and it seems like most of the stuff stripp...

Re: DJ Software for Mac Similar to MixMeister

wait so you're going to prewrite an entire mix and just hit play in front of a crowd of 500? :-O Please tell me you're going to be playing synth live along with this or something right... Or since you stated in the "dubstep wobble thread" you're an amazing finger drummer, why don't you fingerbang f...

Re: DJ Software for Mac Similar to MixMeister

Why not just use MixMeister? The latest version is for OSX as well... Yeah I saw that it can easily work for osx, but my problem is the $199 price tag. I bought it on PC years ago and it wasn't nearly as expensive...though that PC of mine is now very unreliable, and I'd like to not take a chance on...

DJ Software for Mac Similar to MixMeister

I am really wanting to find some DJ software that allows beat-matching/mixing of MP3s on a Mac, that is identical in structure to Mixmeister. This screenshot shows you what Mixmeister looks like - http://www.mixmeister.com/images/screenshots/screenshot-studio-1280x990.jpg I need the software to be a...

Re: Jx8p or Prophet 600?

I sold off my 8P because I found it to be too thin and boring. I kept the 3P because it had a much warmer sound than the 8P. I'm always looking for a Prophet 600, even though I have a P'08. If I had to say off of my own experience - you'd find warmer tones in the P600 than the 8P, but then again I'm...

Anyone want to pre-order one...play with it for a month - feel unimpressed with it, and then sell it to me for $1000 shipped? Sounds like a deal to me!!

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

I picked up a Electro-Harmonix Voice Box from N8-R, and the transaction went great. Very easy to deal with, and great communication. No problems what-so-ever.

Re: Poly Evolver vs Prophet 08

If you're between the two, can spend the money for either, and don't need more than four voice polyphony I'd suggest the Poly Evolver because it can sound as analog as a Prophet '08, or as digital as a Prophet VS. The filter isn't the strongest, but it can be a real badass. I've heard that mentione...

Re: New Squarepusher---is Shobaleader One really a band?

Finally got this in on vinyl. I listened to it all the way thru on 33rpm before realizing it's suppose to run at 45, which is strange being in 12" 180 gram vinyl, but regardless - if you get a chance, slow this record down a bit and give it another listen. It is SO much more enjoyable going extremel...
