Re: Prophet 6

CV and gate ins and outs are pretty much pointless on a six voice poly. You'd need an extra 24 jacks that wouldn't be used by 99.9% of people who bought the synth. CV/exp input for the filter makes sense, can you describe a situation where you would use pitch CV and gate connections? the original p...

Re: Prophet 6

I was looking at the connections this thing has, & the biggest difference from the P5 is the lack of cv, considering at least a few rev 3.3's left the factory with midi. instead of cv & gate ins & outs, theres an expression in for the filter. now, why wouldn't the Prophet 6 have cv patch points, esp...

Re: Can MPC 2000 play 2000XL Disks ?

It's so you could update the OS without having to pull chips out and replace them.

Then thy is actually a good idea. Why isn't the XL that way then ?
the 2000xl os is on a 512 kB flash RAM chip, which is what basically made ROM obsolete for most purposes

Re: Thoughts on a Synclavier?

the cutoff, bandwidth, and pitch bend jacks are cv inputs, yall. that way you can use the gates & kbd cv outs to control another unit, and if its modular, patch it back into the synclavier. thats probably what NED was thinkin youd want to use the synclav to control a monosynth for

Re: An envelope question

occasionally it will affect the next note, especially when using analog egs, which generally retrigger from their current value instead of zero. say your vca env has a quick release & the filter env a long release. you play a note and release it; filter cutoff will be higher at the end of the note (...

Re: Which Odyssey color?

I voted mkII, although I think the III looks great as well. I reckon if the II was the regular model and the III was limited I'd want the III more. But I love the little rubber caps on the earlier revs. the wider slider caps on the mk iii look like theyd be just a little easier to play with just on...
