Re: New hybrid digital/analogue Roland Synth?

^^^^^^ how are you hoping they implement the analog mono into the hybrid poly, make it multitimbral with that just another timbre & dedicated knobs or ? ? its an intereting idea, im curious to hear more of what youd want there. WTF is up with all the synths with minikeys these days. Some of us actua...

Re: Good crunchy, dirty, lofi samplers

"Standard" floppies. Not sure what you mean by standard... I meant still widely commercially available, non-proprietary formats, such as 3.5" DD/HD. Remember the S-10's QuickDisks? :D http://www.electromusic.co.uk/image.php?type=P&id=2283 Yeah - I remember those. I was so close to buying a new S-10...

Re: What Synth has the most Mojo?

something about setting mg 1 to a mid audio rate and cranking the res on the mono/poly always makes me feel at home. i rarely even play polyphonically, i mostly even ignore the keyboard and just turn knobs for hours. running it through a delay or three is always fun and the moog lpf adds a warmth th...

Re: Which was the first production duophonic synth?

yeah, the 2500s had those monster five octave half reverse color keyboards and could play up to four notes on the fanciest arrangement: an ody style duophonic on the white accidentals and another one set up on the section with black accidentals

Re: Spring Reverbs

Just buy an ARP 2600 - you get the stereo spring reverb along with a "modular", and it will hold it's resale value for quite some time. THIS guy! Let's see...average price for average condition 2600...$7-10k. Plus fixing inevitable issues...$3-5k. I wish. ARP 2600 (mid-life crisis... cheaper ...

Re: Looking for a second lover

It's got to be analog, all voltage controlled, no memory. It can be either mono or poly. Something I can sit down and spend quality time with. It doesn't need a dozen LFO's or crazy modulation routing. The ability to create interesting timbres is more important (filter/osc fm, osc sync type stuff) ...

Re: Easiest Mono Synth to learn

^^^^ def this, but id say go with the microbrute because its even more dead simple plus the patch matrix makes it more interactive should her immune system not fight off the synth virus
and shes your bandmate and its cheaper so she can buy another round!

Re: In a Paris music store a few weeks ago...

it definitely sounds nice, but the lack of individual outs makes a 707 look better to me
of course thats because i outboard everything all to h**l so aint much better on a drum machine than a lotta outs
if youre after a fat sound the tr 8 is real nice
