Re: what's up with my moog slim phatty being out of tune?

the ms-20s linear oscillators warm up real fast and drift way less than exponential oscillators, which is the primary benefit of linear voltage scaling, and i think the mini has digital thermostats or tempcos or something to keep them even more stable the exponential converter is the most temperatur...

Re: Synth with many voices

also youre looking for samples in ROM, or at least patches, more than voices. many voices just means you can play more notes at once; the number of voices on an analog or hybrid syth is fixed, while many digital synths the polyphony varies according to how complex the sound is why not look a few of t...

Re: Minimal wave tips??? Ensoniq, Moog, E-mu

the esq1 is fun with modular
how many digital polysynths have a cv input?
if you have cv out on the lp you could do cool sequences on the esq1 or sequence it via the command station, and patch the cv to various things on different voices for some multitimbral madness

i do seem to recall om mani padme hum was inscribed on the prophet 5 boards, so even at its most cutting and high attack settings, it would still be singing a peaceful song inside

Re: dsi pro 2 vs moog voyager

The Voyager is an easy target. Mod routings were never a strong point of Moogs. not their keyboards , bt thats prety much the whole point of moogerfoogers Still, plenty of folks will balk at buying anything without VCOs. this is true, but the last synth of smiths those folksd look at is the T8, rig...

Re: Modulus 002 --- new synth from UK

Someone manufactures something for cheap: "Price is exactly right here but why do those knobs feel so shitty?" Someone manufactures something high quality: "LOL I can buy cheapo piece X, Y, and Z for that $." Buying cheap is buying twice. i havent seen anything on a synth that looks as breakable as...

Re: Korg mono/poly vs Korg polysix

dont talk about perfect drones and then ignore how avoiding a->d->a conversion, ie stair stepping, removes what is a major hindrance for some types of music, there is more to play on these synths than just keys
