Re: Korg/ARP Odyssey. LFO Envelope retrig problem.

Ugh. I'm glad I've avoided grabbing one. So that's two for two, Korg. The totally unrealistic level of noise in a bunch of the MS20 minis that they've completely brushed under the table ("But the original was noisy!" - Bullshit!) is equally ridiculous. Sounds like a bunch of cutting corners/lazy eng...

Re: Software - What if Amazon dies or your VST developer...

Except Logic used to be on PC too- not any more.... And hardware also gets O.S. updates...matter of fact, you can check this forum in the hardware synth section and hear about how much stuff was released that was buggy. The developers/manufacturers eat that cost from sales in total, unlike software...

Re: Software - What if Amazon dies or your VST developer...

I signed up with Apple Music a few months ago. I've added probably about 100 albums to my cloud collection since. What if Apple decides to change its content (based on various artist license agreements)? All of a sudden 20 albums disappear from my collection. Will I need to purchase a download/cd/vi...

Re: should I get a prophet 6?

I finally got a chance to put my hands on a Prophet 6 recently. It was only for a few minutes, running mono through a crappy Roland keyboard amp. My very first impressions were: 'This thing is smaller than I thought; cool' and 'meh, this thing sounds kinda stiff and modern.' Then I started playing w...

Re: places to sell vintage synths (UK)

I'd at least list it here (its free!) and I wouldn't be too afraid of shipping. At least within your continent. I've shipped all kinds of vintage synths (as have many others on here) without incident. This site IS your target audience!

Re: Yamaha Reface

I know CS_TBL can attest to this, but meatball (or anyone else with vast experience) - do you find yourself no longer inspired by synths? If so, how do you get yourself going on a piece of music, project, etc? I keep feeling I'm going to be inspired once I sit down in front of synth x, that all thes...

I don't have any recommendations - but I dig the soundscape you've got going on!

Re: MFB Dominion 1

I've been checking out the Sub37 as well. If I go by demos though, the Dominion 1 sounds a lot more interesting. I've spent a decent amount of time with the modern Moog sound, so I'm not as jazzed to pick up the Sub37. Even with all of the improvements in modulation handling/sequencing.

Re: Nord Lead 2X

The Lead 2x doesnt have any of the sampled instruments, just the synth engine. The Wave has most of that synth engine, plus the ability to load samples. However, its got limited memory and can't host the best piano and organ stuff from the Nord library (multi sampled stuff). The Stage series can, bu...

Analog Haven still says TBD, and Thomann's the same...

If I were to go by most demos on the internet, basically every synthesiser would have to be a heap of dung.

Re: Korg Might Be Up To Something.

its not going to be a new/reissue synth - they'll save that for one of the big conventions. Just like everyone's said, it'll probably be an full size Oddy kit. $1999.

Where's the 61 and 88 note mini key controllers! Korg has some mini 61 key offerings. http://i.korg.com/uploads/Products/Product_Images/microSTATION_top_MAIN_634049408835900000.png http://i1.wp.com/www.synthtopia.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/korg-microkey-usb-midi-controller-family.jpg?resize=250...

Re: Arp Odyssey

The more time I spend working with Oddity and staying 100% in-the-box, the more I'm realizing how killer this workflow is. I think I'm just going to save my money and see how far I can take this adventure. I'm think an album done 100% in-the-box is happening! This will be a first - not buying gear t...
