Re: Lost Synth Sounds

My problem is a little different. Any time I create a sound that I like and intend to use on a composition, I tend to want to keep tweaking it as necessary to fit in the mix. Usually I record several versions of the piece as I'm working on it. This process is exciting, especially working with a juno...

Re: Steve Moore

his soundtrack as gianni rossi for the film gutterballs is simply amazing to me, it seems to tie in all his different forms of vintage electronica into one very concise, although unfortunately short, set of tracks. the guitar on it sounds really, really at home with him too even though i think it w...

Re: Here We Discuss Brian Eno's Use of Vintage Synths

Eno is a huge inspiration to me. His sound design, his ethics....man, theres just nothing better to aspire to! He's the guy that makes an maudio keyboard and laptop tantilizing. But anyways...anyone know which eventide unit he utilized on stuff like Apollo?

Re: Syncing and Sequencing

Thanks for the input guys! stab - budget isn't a concern at the moment - I'm more or less trying to understand the concepts involved, and what devices are availible. Truth be told, I'll spend whatever is appropriate. Of course, you are correct about the concept of word clock, but on the 2626, midi c...

Syncing and Sequencing

I need to sync a Juno 6, Moog Voyager Old School, and a Nord Electro 3 to a hardware sequencer, clocked by Protools (via my Profire 2626). I know I can send clock info from Protools, via the 2626's word clock output, to a hardware sequencer. I know that the Electro 3 can recieve (and send) midi data...

can it even be done?

So, I recently bought a minimoog voyager old school. What an amazing piece of work! Seriously, this piece is probably the most beautiful in all terms of sound and feel that I've ever come in contact with. but I gotta ask, have any of you fellow old school owners been able to bring this unit into the...

SCI Prelude

Hi folks - any idea why exactly one key on my prelude either doesn't trigger sound at all (most of the time) or, every once in a great while, will trigger a very faint sound. i understand that if all the octaves of one note don't function correctly, the culprit would be a voice chip/module, but coul...

Re: Guess that string/brass synth

you're certainly making it tricky with the effects and layering! since you're using the word brass, i'm assuming its a orchestra or a prelude (which are pretty much identical anyways!), and not either of the solinas. i can't think of any other units off the top of my head. i'm skeptical that its any...

Re: ARP Quartet VS Sequential Prelude VS Siel Orchestra

the quartet is definitely a repackaged orchestra. check out this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6F3Hy5H7KQ for a comparison of the orchestra II and the prelude. i made my purchase decision pretty much on just this video. i went with a prelude! the output seems to be hotter and the sustain a...
