Re: Hybrid Synths - cheaper poly analog?

i picked up an alpha juno recently.. it's pretty awesome when you use an editor with it. some sounds are a little thin though.. i solved that by running it through the filter/overdrive on my slim phatty.. instantly makes the sound HUGE. it really is a great synth.. i found mine for under $200, can't...

Re: New analog boxes from Korg?

curious to see how these turn out, they look very nice.

Re: New Novation Bass Station?

I'm curious to see what it is.. it certainly does look like a bass station. Maybe it'll have some fancy new features.. only time will tell.

There's another tiny little picture here:

Re: So why is the MPC renaissance like $1000?

$1,000 Numark midi controller with fancy lights on it.

lol, seriously though. I bet it's pretty sweet, it's just about twice as much as what it should be. There's absolutely no reason that thing should be anymore than $500.

Calling it an MPC was quite a bold move by Akai.

Re: Who here is ALL ANALOG?

I have an analog mono synth (moog slim phatty) and an analog poly synth w/ dco's (roland alpha juno), which all get recorded digitally via presonus fire studio into ableton live.

Re: Roland JV 1080 and Akai MPK 49 Keyboard

Make sure the Akai is plugged into a power outlet. Run a standard midi cable, Akai Midi Out --- to --- Roland Midi in. Run audio cables out of the roland into your speakers or mixer. Make sure the roland midi receive channel is set the same as the akai midi send signal (check manual for how to do th...

Yea i agree. They were talking about this thing on the sonicstate podcast last week. Apparently it's going to be super expensive too.. I don't see much happening from this thing.

Re: K2000 - ways to record sound

The options for recording that you listed are incorrect. The SCSI port is for storage of patches, or for storing samples, on the K2000s (sampler version).. you can't record sound from this output. You'll want to use the 1/4 inch audio output jacks to record with. After reading your post it seems lik...

Re: Problem with modulation section in Moog Little Phatty

You should also try turning up the LFO rate, and more importantly the amount.. some patches have the amount turned very low, could be the issue.

Re: gear on or off?

i destroyed a presonus firewire interface by always leaving it plugged into my computer (which was almost always on)..

definitely unplug any interface that doesn't have a power switch, same with any midi controller. this consumer quality gear isn't made to by left on 24/7..

I at one point picked up a Hammond Auto-Vary 64 for about $50. It was pretty cool, kick drum is pretty dirty sounding. That might be one to look into..
