Re: Winter NAMM 2012
$700? Look at what that would buy on ebay - workstations vastly superior to those Casio instruments. You could buy a high-end groovebox (RM1x, MC-909, Command Station), vastly superior to the simple one on offer by Casio, for a fraction of the price. 19 seconds of sampling time at 10 bit resolution...

Re: Winter NAMM 2012
Specs on the new Casio keyboards: http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2012/01/19/casio-introducing-2-new-s ynths/#more-37781 Not impressive at all, imo. The specs/features on these instruments read like something introduced 10 years ago. It is Casio though and only $700, so I wasn't expecting any spe...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
Funny how my only synth need latly is an analog mono. So many new options. This one looks great, excited to see if Pulse 2 can win me over this one.

Re: New MPC flagship.
Dont really think its a "real" MPC or flagship, if you NEED to hook it up to computer to use. I guess we'll see. Looks like no fully more blown out MPC hardware will come now. May be end of a long era.

Boston area Repair Needed - AX80
So I got this jaming AX80, clean shape. But 2 main problems. about 7-10 buttons don't work, and one voice is out. Not skilled or have enough confidence to open her up and fix myself. Any techs northwest of Boston that can help. I'd of coarse compensate.

Re: Micro Q vs Blofeld for trance?
Weird, I may be the only one but I really dislike the tone of the blofield. No matter how you program it, it sounds very flat and lifeless to me. Even the Jexus videos I hear the same thing, sad cause I really like waldorf synths and I have bought two blofs at different times to try and prove myself...

Re: Yamaha SY-35 vs Kawai K4
Ive owned both, still have my SY35, but not the K4. The SY35 has a nice grainy gritty sharp lo-fi sound about it, that I love. The vector synth makes it real fun, and you can get some nice pads/strings/and even some decent quality classic yamaha FM sounds out of it. You can also record yoursefl movi...

Re: for the love of MPCs ....
I dont mind the sound of the newest MPCs, they are transparent but the sound is a bit compressed and outputs kinda cheap. You are right thou they do still sound better then 2000 series, they have more punch. I hate how so many people think the 2000 series has that special old school sound. It really...
