Re: NAMM 2017

The word on the street is that Access will be selling a synth called the Virus TI2. Some people are referring to it as the Ferrari of synthesizers.

It looks like it'll be expensive though...
Since it's 14% larger, shouldn't it only be 14% more expensive?

Re: Novation Ultranova is surprisingly cool

The Novation UltraNova and MiniNova have the same sound engine. Check out these Gary Numan sounds programmed for these synths. This will give you an idea as to how good the UltraNova/MiniNova can sound (good speakers or headphones are a must):

Re: Moog model D reissue

Dude, a Sub37 VCO? No way...too much work. They got that minty new Moog 15 iPad app right? Duct tape that into a fake wooden box and say "Damn, we're done!" Sure, they'll need a promo video featuring some guy with artisinal facial hair, but once that hard work is done, they can just sit back and le...

Re: Moog model D reissue

How authentic is this reissue? Does this Model D reissue capture the radio interference and oscillator tuning drift of the original?

Re: Mood model D reissue

How does this Model D re-issue differ in sound/features from the Moog Voyager Old School? http://www2.pcmag.com/media/images/346061-moog-music-minimoog-old-school.jpg?thumb=y 1. This was built on the Voyager design, not the Model D's design 2. I would assume the Old School circuit board was pre-pre...

I'm not bullshitting.
There is a rumor that Roland will be unveiling a real analog Jupiter 10 in a few days at Musikmesse.

Re: Korg MS-20 or Maxikorg 800DV?

true, luckily they are very discrete build, so that makes it much easier for the experts to be repaired. That's true. However, expert repair = $$$ With the new equipment available nowadays, I personally don't see the need for spending big money on old, often unreliable and expensive vintage gear. T...

Re: Korg MS-20 or Maxikorg 800DV?

I need to make a decision and I dont want to regret it for the rest of my life. If you had to choose one of these , which one would it be ? Please explain why. thanks I had a Maxi-Korg back in the early 80s. It is a great sounding synth. Although, as others have mentioned, it is rather limited in w...

It will be the Pico-Boutique edition, a 1 voice synth that comes with a stylus and magnifying glass to move the sliders.

I'm hoping for a Brute from Arturia, a two (or three) oscillator three octave keyboard synth.

Synth Demos That Make You Want The Synth

As you know, there are a lot of synth demos out there that do a poor job of selling the synth. Did you ever come across a demo that makes you want the synth really bad? Here's one that makes me want a Waldorf Q. When this page opens, download the audio demo titled qwerk and crank it (good headphones...

Re: White Roland JD-XA

Custom in the title says it all. Probably some rich musician that got a "paintjob". Well, it does say, "...upcoming Roland JD-XA in a custom white finish..." to the right of the first photo. Custom doesn't necessarily mean one of a kind, just as boutique doesn't always mean boutique. I've read comm...

Re: Prophet 12 vs Tempest?

The Prophet 12 has amazing features, but the bottom line is that it's about the sound. This is the clip that sold me on the Prophet 12 (does this sound too digital? I don't think so).

Crank it (good speakers or headphones are a must):
