Re: New Novation Bass Station?

Jeez, do we have to have the whole 'what's a DCO and what's a VCO?' sidetrack in every single thread? They have different Osc cores, it doesn't matter if the CV is generated by a digital source or not or whether the CV is corrected by digital circuitry that measures the Osc frequency. You could mak...

Re: The Basic Effects - What Makes a Synth Sing?

Maybe you should work with the microkorg more before searching for something new. Although I think a lot of us here are guilty of buying out of impulse, it won't help your music to splurge on gear. I've bought and sold quite a few synths looking for the sound I wanted, but now realize that any of th...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini

I've been wanting a change of scenery monosynth-wise for a while now and I'd figured the solution would be the minibrute (which I still think is great) but seeing this on pre-order all over the various retailer websites... it's bloody tempting. I'm not in the market for a mono now, but if I was I w...

Re: FS: Roland hs-80/alpha juno2 keybed w/springs, keys,cont

Some of the keys are actually non-working, but a good cleaning may fix them. I should have clarified this earlier, but I assumed people would be more interested in buying single keys or springs from it.

Re: Kavinsky says, "No analog gear"

Yeah, I guess it's been that way for years, but to see someone of his stature with one is just ... neat? Funny? Odd? Not expected by me, I guess. Is it even really that big of a deal? Maybe he doesn't want people thinking that he needs certain gear to make good sounds. Its all about the person play...

Re: does any synth sound better to your ears than an Omega 8

thanks, I would love to hear from someone who could compare the moog and ob-x with the similar filters on the omega 8 and if they are as good though a little diferent. the memorymoog can break down a lot but if i could get it all in one unit I without taking a step down in tone, even if to the side...

Make sure all the keys and buttons work well. If you have to clean contacts, don't pay more than $125

FS: Roland hs-80/alpha juno2 keybed w/springs, keys,contacts

I have a full keybed that I am trying to get rid of. I am not sure what all this is compatible with, but make an offer. I can split this up too.

Re: Would a Korg DW 8000 be good for a beginner?

It is actually a pretty straight forward synth. If you glanced through a copy of the manual, you would be able to understand it in 20 minutes. My first synth was the poly-800, which uses the same programming style, and I had no trouble. And it is a great sounding synth. You can program complex sound...
