Re: Apps for synth build-it-yourself.. what do you think?

Reaktor is one I still haven't tried out yet. I've been busy testing VST synth performance in the LMMS DAW for linux, I'll have to test that one out tomorrow Now that I look at what I just wrote, it might seem like a bit of a contradiction. -Maybe it is. I like unusual synthesis capabilties, but I ...

Re: Apps for synth build-it-yourself.. what do you think?

Ummm... Should I even mention Reaktor? It's as simple or complex as you want it to be, build from the ground up or drag 'n drop. +1...I have just recently started to use Reaktor...had it for years though. You can make it do just about anything you want. I wish I would have spent more time with it y...

Re: :UPDATE: Fascination Street (Demo Version) - Cure Cover

I went back and added some reverb and a little better EQ to the Vocals so they sound better now. I usually do my vocals in a Bill Leeb or Nivek Ogre style so actually singing is quite difficult for me. The final product will either be a duet with female vocals, or just female vocals. I hope it sound...

:UPDATE: Fascination Street (Demo Version) - Cure Cover

Here is a rough demo version of The Cure's Fascination Street that I have been working on. I used a Supernova II, MIcrowave XT, and Battery 3. I recently got the Microwave XT, and I really like the digital sound it has. It has a much different character than any of my other gear. The vocals are no R...

Re: Arturia Drumbrute - where did the thread go?

It's funny to me to hear some people saying it doesn't sound good in the demos, all the demos sound good tonally to me. I find it quite humorous myself. The demos sounded really nice to me and made me consider possibly getting one in the future; but alas, I have enough drum machines, kits, etc. to ...

Re: Yamaha CS-80 (x2) from Zappa's estate

Noone has a bigger cult following in the world than Frank Zappa. I'm sure fans with lots of money on their hands want to own anything he or his bandmates have laid their fingers on. I am not surprised at all. You're right. There may even be some die hard fan with cash to burn (who doesn't even know...

Re: Sub Phatty vintage 80s bass sounds?

Yes, SubPhatty can make those sounds. What you are misisng with your BS is a real Moog filter. Both those examples are easy to create on almost any Moog. +1... I owned a Little Phatty a few years ago and recreate the sounds you are looking for with relative ease. I've demoed a Sub Phatty a couple o...

Re: Which option is the best for me?

Access Virus. (aka Virus A) but the Ultranova would be a better synth. Or a Novation Nova if you want to spend less than that. :agree: the Indigo or Nova desktop are both really good, but they haven't been coming up on eBay and the like as often as they used to. The Ultranova would easily be the be...

a big difference in the virus ti and virus ti2 plugins?

I've heard a lot of "squeaky wheels" reporting TI bugs, but I never had issues with my TI Snow. Maybe because I'm a Mac user? It worked as advertised with both Ableton Live and Cubase. I'm a Mac user as well....I use Logic Pro 9. I can't say that the "TI" doesn't work, but it just seems like a PITA...

Re: Replacement for Kurzweil K2000

You should be able to get a K2500 for under $1000 these days, if I were you I'd be sticking with Kurzweil, their stuff is great. If you're looking for new check out the SP4 or PC3LE series, they're a little over your budget but sound great. I really like the sound of the PC3LE. If you can afford it...

Re: Vintage Roland...In A Polka Band.

I actually saw a Polka Band many years ago at local festival in my town that had an ESQ-1. I do believe that they were integrating 1-2 non-polkas into each of their sets, but it was still quite humorous.
