Re: My debut album

So I just got done listening to the entire album, and I really like what you did. My best friend is a DJ at the Leland City Club in Downtown Detroit. It is an idustrial, goth, synthpop, darkwave, etc club. I really enjoyed "Square" and "Deeper and Deeper." I'm going to give him the link to your stuf...

Re: Looking at purchasing a new misxer

Don't know if you are still contemplating your mixer scenario, but I have the Mackie Onyx 1620. I know its not the 1640, but thought I could at least give you an idea. I have had it for about 5 years now and never had a single problem with it. I think it is pretty durable, and I have beat the c**p o...

A Sampling Newbie has Some Questions

So I am new to the idea of sampling. Up until now, I pretty much recorded everything I did in realtime (which can become in pain in the you know what). What I really want to do is start putting movie quote samples in my songs, but I would also like to sample instruments and other random sounds and n...

Re: Are you an expert on a specific synthesizer?

I would have to say not at this time. Every time I think I have one of my synths figured out inside and out......well.....there always seems to be something new that pops up.....So may maybe I'm an expert learner or just really darn slow at figuring out how to work my synths. But either way, it sure...

Re: What got you into synths?

I am a child of the 80s so new wave was all I listened to growing up. With that said there were a few albums that I remember that blew me away. I fell in love with Gary Numan's "Telekon," Depech Mode's "Black Celebration," and much of what New Order did. When I got to high school, I started listenin...

Re: Need Help For a New Synth

Thanks for the input....
I purchased the Access Virus TI 2 because it seems to be the weapon of choice by everyone.
I also purchased the Novation XioSynth 25 because I liked the portability factor of it. So far, I am very happy with both of my purchases :D

Re: Ensoniq Mirage

I have personally never owned a Mirage but know some people who have used them. Yes, editing VIA HEX Code can be a little daunting. Also, as was posted by "sequentialsoftshock," you definitely want to make sure that the floppy drive works. I know more than one person who has owned a Mirage and had t...

Need Help For a New Synth

I am in the market for a new keyboard, but I can't seem to narrow down the choices. I currently have a Yamaha MO8, Nord Lead 2, Roland Fantom FA-76 (with a couple of expansion boards), and Logic Pro 7. I am trying making dark electro/industrial music as well as some synthpop and techno (with a "tech...
