Re: Korg poly800(v1) vs Roland juno106

One somewhat unique feature of the Poly 800 is the separate Envelope for the Noise Generator. This allows you to get Noise on the Attack that can Decay quickly while the main body of the sound can Sustain or evolve differently. Or you could fade Noise in and out independently of what the other Enve...

Re: mc-909 sampling question

Quick question for those experienced with the mc-909.. Is it possible to sample and have it record a length predetermined by the sequencer and then have it automatically place the sample into the composition with? you have a function (called Autodivide )by wich 909 autochops a coming sounds with si...

Re: Synth+Sampler+Seq:What Workstation?

My fusion was bug free except for a weird quirk with the midi out. It would put a program change to the tinkerbell sound into the steam. If you check the fusion zone forum, you will find that bugs are not uncommon. It seems like most people find a solution, but I have not really spent a lot of time...

Re: Electronic Music Equipment

Right now I'm using an EMU E6400 ultra, but for a long time I used an S2000. I loved the S5000 for this purpose, but mine has some strange power supply issue, so I've set it aside for a while. The s1000 was hard to beat, but it has such a small amount of memory that you really have to get creative,...

Price, well, that's not so competitive. In the $5000+ range when you can find them available.

Re: Electronic Music Equipment

- composition tools: a lot of folks record onto a computer and arrange their audio files there. I record onto a sampler , and arrange my audio files on the sampler by way of a midi sequencer that is intersting for me, because i use to do the same, i use mainly an mc909 or/with xxxxxx (could be SP50...

Re: Synth+Sampler+Seq:What Workstation?

I had a fusion for 5(ish) years, and currently have a motif xf. The synth engine in the fusion was great/unique (eg physical modeling, and the hard drive with eight audio inputs was quite nice, sampling too. That said I think the xf has a better sequencer, better filters, more insert effects, overa...

Re: Synth+Sampler+Seq:What Workstation?

If you can get an ES at a low price, I would seriously consider it, especially if you're comfortable with the RS' sequencer. It has good sounds and excellent effects. Having two dedicated insert effects for each of 8 parts is really, really great. In many ways this is better than the Triton's effec...

that's really a good advice, thanks. I'll check the motif manual better.

Re: Synth+Sampler+Seq:What Workstation?

If you already have both the RS7000 and MC909 why are you looking for a workstation? Just asking. good question, don't worry. i'm satisfied with the mc909, but when it comes to mix all 16 tracks together, sometimes something doesn't fit 100% on the mix. plus, there is a general EQ and not per track...

Re: Synth+Sampler+Seq:What Workstation?

Another thing to note about the Yamaha Motif ES, if you go that route, is that you can install the plg card from your an200 into it, if you so wish hi man! yes, i think you can add both AN+DX cards, and that's cool. The only thing i would like to investigate better with a manual comparison is a sor...

Re: Synth+Sampler+Seq:What Workstation?

Fusion is very cheap used, many people only bought one when they were blown out (for about $500 here in US), primarily for the onboard FM/VA engines. You can subscribe using a fake name and email if you want to read the Alesis manuals. thanks for the email trick, i will surely do it. the price (use...

Re: Synth+Sampler+Seq:What Workstation?

The only difference is the keys. the M3 module, attaches to the keyboards. ok. then the other models are not for me (budget), but thanks anyway. any toughts about the Alesis Fusion? it's a bit snobbed, but from the demos i've heard, it sounds good to me. I didn't find the manual (you have to subscr...

Re: Synth+Sampler+Seq:What Workstation?

Korg M3: Sampler, sequencer, sample-based synthesis, and (if you get one with it) a VA synth, Not gonna get one with the RADIAS card for 600 euros tho. thanks for this advice. i took a rapid look at it about the prices and the only model on the KorgM series i can afford for my budget (as i said abo...
