Re: Elektron hinting at something new

I've brought shame upon my family for starting a thread for this. I guess this is why people think that Eurorack users just make terrible sounds. I do have kind of a preconceived notion of what the average modular makes as far as music. All these videos of just them twisting endless knobs on a shor...

I see the heads bobbing though
it's hilariously messed up, something isn't fitting and it's throwing everything off. almost seems like a joke.

Re: KORG SIX new exclusive products

Just got the word that current ETA on the Electribe (not the sampler version) is November and US price is $399. Do you have a secret source? I hope the sampler isn't later than that. new Electribes! Me wanna! I´ve owned each one of them, at the end, I kept only the ESX-1. but only one model? Any ho...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

I just hope it comes out sooner than later, isn't delayed or stuck with bad production issues, and sounds like the original... And it doesn't cost $1200.

Re: Anyone here burned out on modern analog?

Jesus Christ I hate how every thread turns into "analog/digital/new/old sucks and people are stupid for liking it." Everything turns into "I'm more hardcore because I only use synths made before 1978". No one gives a s**t why people buy euro racks. Maybe because they like the sound, maybe they want ...

Re: Anyone here burned out on modern analog?

I understand the original intent of the post, but I hate how all of this always turns into "people should or shouldn't buy this because xyz." Synths are like speakers, or cookies, or cars, or whatever, and what sounds awesome to one person sounds like c**p to someone else. I have digital synths and ...

Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they

Why does anyone care about a TR-707 sound set? It's just a bunch of crappy samples. I've thought something like this myself, viz.. "Why wouldn't people that don't want to buy 707s just use samples if they want a 707 sound for whatever they're doing?" I've come up with two possible answers: one that...

Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they

I really really hope we get some TR-8 sound banks before they abandon it. That'll be good for years and gears if they just add the CR-78 and some other good ones.

I think a ton of people would buy the System-1 if it had a handful of plugouts. Judging by the Sonic State video, the 101 was awesome.

Re: New Elektron Machine

That new software looks dope! The comments above regarding the Octatrack and its steep learning curve, makes me think I may want to get the Rytm first and the Octa perhaps at a later point. Assuming your high post count means you're not a newbie to the world of sound design and synthesis, don't let...

Re: Synth Spa- Haven't seen my 106 in almost a year...

If I were in your shoes, I would have tried to call this place up during business hours to speak with some kind of real human being a long time ago. The fact that they haven't provided any service or answered any emails for nearly a year now warrants a valid Better Business Bureau complaint. For al...

Synth Spa- Haven't seen my 106 in almost a year...

EDIT 2: Just heard back from Allen at the synth spa. Looks like things are still busy but he's churning through. Said at worst he had 70 unopened boxes to work on, now it's at 13. Any of you guys buy anything from the Synth Spa? I sent my 106 out there for the whole refurb last September. Haven't he...

Re: Price discrepancies?

I think it's VAT. I'm not sure exactly what VAT is but it's something like 20% added for certain items, like synths. It happens both ways too I think. The Pulse 2 is way more expensive in the states.

Re: New Elektron Machine

omg people the Tetra was only used as reference since it was a four voice synth module that you could control over CC commands, in no way discussing tone :? haha, I know I know, but there is no comparison ;) Forget CC messages and the like, the A4 is a vast but very simple machine to use on it's ow...

Re: New Elektron Machine

I would get an Octatrack used first. If you don't like it you can sell it and use the invested money to go towards something else. The Analog Four is the weakest one to my ears, I'd rather have a MonoMachine, but the Octatrack and Rytm both seem super versatile. Plus the OctaTrack offers so much mo...
