Re: DSI PRO 2

Cancelled my Sub 37 now to wait and see how everything all pans out... I think the Pro-2 would add to anyone's sound who doesn't already have the P12. I don't think Moog has changed their voice architecture enough to warrant having double modern Moog. Maybe I'll try to get a P2 used eventually. And ...

Re: DSI PRO 2

my question... do you get this, a sub 37, or both, just spaced way apart in time the audio demo sounded so awesome. it has things none of my other synths have. or an MFB Dominion ...Or a Korg Odyssey. :dontknow: We all need to start digging in our couch cushions... The Korg Odyssey is a no brainer ...

Re: New Moog Synth- Werkstatt

Good value if you can forgive it for not having MIDI or a keyboard. I'm tempted but I can't do it without those things. Would rather get a bigger Moog. Maybe one day this will be a collector's item though.

Right, but within the same brand, and similar monophonic specs, to suggest one will cost twice as much as the other is silly.

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

Sliders cost more than pots. I think it will be more. Still no word on if it's full size though. So it's up in the air. Rumour has it that there will also be a pot version for less $$ but it will only be available in Colorado and Washinton state. :hifi: <<<----- Colorado dude, baked and liste...

Re: Emulator II

On a whim, and since my EII+ is gone now, I picked up both the Emulation One and Emulation II libraries. The EII library (take this with a grain of salt since I have yet to dive into it) has on order of almost 4GB of sample data. Don't know if it actually includes the factory sounds plus the more f...

Re: Emulator II

5%? That's terrible. On the other hand, the EI library is exceedingly hard to get, and the UVI has all of the "famous" sounds- basically, it's the only source. The only sound I want though, is the EI choir that Jarre used on Visions of China. Not worth $69 :) That's what I care about-- the big soun...

Re: Emulator II

UVI Limited library...., although looks like they're offering it at discounted price with Emulation 1 on 7th April: http://newsletter.univers-sons.com/HM?a=ENX7CqvYvEI48SA9MKJuTr7nGHxKLieeR_cStGb5lw8W0bBhOG5mpqVsje_Hhe-vylNq How limited? I'm very interested in this. Cheaper than forking out a grand.

Re: Would you buy a CS80 if re-released?

The sound of a synth comes from its components and circuit design. I think the more accurate statement would be, "The sound of a synth comes from its sound generating components and circuit design." A HUGE portion of the CS-80's circuitry is dedicated to mundane functions like key scanning and pres...

Re: Emulator II

I've always been curious about these sounds. If the Emulator sounds like what I think it sounds like (those weird 80s sounds that can't be synthesized normally?), what's the best way to get its sounds on a modern mac? Are there sound libraries available? Is there a digital version? I'm looking for t...

Re: Would you buy a CS80 if re-released?

I don't understand the naysayers in this thread. It seems to be pretty simple to me. You'd buy it if: 1. you liked the sound of the first synth 2. you didn't mind that it would probably be popular and lots of people would have it 3. you thought it sounded close enough to the original 4. it wasn't to...
