Re: Korg announces the NovaKorg!!!!

I predict this will cost less than $500. My basis for this, you ask? Simple: I want it to be cheap and I am cheap therefore I'm certain Korg will make it cheap.

Re: Finaly a new poliphonic Moog or not?!

The graphic was posted by Moog Music on their forum.

I saw a piece of text on the graphic that was "duo". I forget where on the panel it was. Maybe it can be played as a two voice synth with the voices going through a single filter paraphonically.

Re: Raffle for minimoog signed by Gary Numan

This just in from the BMF website. "We are delighted to announce that Mads Wilken of Copenhagen, Denmark has won the Minimoog Model D signed by Gary Numan. We talked to Mads this afternoon and he is “over the moon” with excitement. He’s promised to take photo of the synth when it arrives in his stud...

Re: Raffle for minimoog signed by Gary Numan

I was so entertained by the whine-fest about BMF at the beginning of this thread that I felt compelled to read the whole thing. Interesting stuff! I had completely forgotten that I donated a tiny amount of money to them a few years ago. I still haven't received my pony, but I'm willing to let bygone...

Re: Modern Analog Song Competition

I wish I could find time to participate. It sounds like fun. The no-fx rule is a toughie, but a challenge like that could lead to interesting results.

I suppose I could try to find some time to make something with my Volcas. Maybe.

Re: New analog boxes from Korg?

Buy this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/1Spot9v/ And this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/1SpotMC5/ Or just this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/1SpotComboPk/ Be VERY careful if you attempt this. I looked into these ideas a while ago and my conclusion was that it wouldn't w...

Re: What should each company make next?

Korg should just be korg. Make a Volca mixer with FX or something. I've been assuming and hoping that Korg would further the Volca line, but I hadn't given any thought to what the next boxes could be. Your idea is perfect! Tempo-sync fx, mixer with 1/4" outs, and maybe a built-in audio interface.

Re: have any groups made country music with synths?

Marissa Nadler has synths in the background behind a few of her folk songs. She creates the most beautiful and dreamy atmospheres with her singing.

Re: Do a lot of the old analog synths have headphone ports?

I tried the main output (Low) to Headphone output trick on my CS-15 once, not sure what to expect. It turned the filter into a howling monstrosity that made my windows vibrate with the highpass filter on full resonance. And it seemed to be completely random. Just turned the cutoff slowly and sudden...

Re: New analog boxes from Korg?

I think Stab's on the money there, for the pricepoint they *are* toys, albeit intersting ones with some potential. Don't go thinking they're the next 808/303 etc, because they're obviously not. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the 303 was marketed as a cheap practice aid for guitarists. It wa...

Re: Anyone use a KORG 01/WFD?

MIDIox is a free program that will allow you to send and receive sysex files between the 01W and your computer. It's a little tricky to use, but once you get the hang of it, it works fine. Get yourself set up with MIDIox (or a DAW) and you'll have no need for the floppy drive.

Re: Anyone use a KORG 01/WFD?

I've had the 88 key version, 01W-ProX, since I bought it new back in the early 90s. It's a nice synth. The strings, vox and bell sounds are particularly nice. Given its age there are many of its other sounds that are dated and not so useful. But all in all it's worthwhile. I've seen several of them ...

That pic was posted EricK at the Moog forum. I wish it was legit, but it doesn't appear to be.
