Re: $129 8-bit digital synth module

Shruthi with ssm2044 sounds fantastic. When I look at the order page, it looks like they only offer the stock filter board with the kit. Is it something you have to request or do they list them again when another batch is available as an optional add-on (purchased separately from the kit)? Edit: He...

Just sold my Vermona Perfourmer to Skizzle. Very friendly guy and payment was lightning fast. You won't regret doing business with him :D

Re: $129 8-bit digital synth module

On a side note, when is the next round of Shrutis going to be available? Still annoyed I didn't buy when they were actually (briefly) available. According to Olivier, he intends to make Shruthis available every month, from what he told me. I have the original one (still unassembled) and would defin...

Re: getting too caught up in tech

Chronic offender.. I think the internet is to blame mostly.. if I could get myself off the internet I'd probably use my gear instead of talk about it/think about it/read about it (and other gear) This man speaks the truth. I don't know what it is about the internet, but I'm always pulled back to it...

Re: Recording without a computer

I've been recording straight to computer as well; through my Saffire Pro 40 and into Reaper. I've been wondering though if maybe I should invest in a little multitrack recorder and mixer, to make things more accessible. It's hard to decide, because I feel like with those two additions, my Saffire wo...

Latest SIDStation OS?

I've been trying to download the last update for the SIDStation for a while now. Can't find it anywhere though - anybody know a place where it's uploaded? No where to be found on Elektron's website for some reason.

I have OS 1.10 R33 right now. I believe R34 is latest, no?

Thanks!

Re: Hardware sequencer

I bought a Manikin Schrittmacher a few days ago. I'll let you know what I think of it when it gets here. Although I doubt my insight into the matter is worth much. It'll be the first 'serious' hardware sequencer I've owned. I see you've got a Vermona DRM MK II. A Europa and a DRM is a delicious comb...

Aw man. I sold my old C64 because I didn't think it was possible to do something like this, and I didn't have room for a clunky old fashioned TV-set.

Now I know at least. Thanks. I might pick up another C64 if I decide I need more SID-power.

Re: Most compact and versatile live-setup?

I don't understand the fear of laptops crashing either. If your computer is good enough, and you don't load it with dumb s**t like a 70 year old grandma, keep it up to date and well maintained, your chances of running into problems while on stage are slim to none. So yeah. A laptop and a few other s...

SIDStation: for, well, the SID. Specifically, the unleashed SID.
TR-606: Those hi-hats and that poppy snare...mmm. I've been wanting to get it circuit-bent, but I certainly can't do it, and I dunno who to talk to about it :/

rharris07 enlightened me and others to the existence of Squarepusher's new project in another thread in the OT section. Can't remember which thread, but I was absolutely ecstatic to hear the news :D

I'm with the TR-606 crowd. Those hi-hats can't be beat.
Ok, then maybe sell both and buy a used machinedrum mk2 UW.
This too! Hard to go wrong with a Machinedrum.

Ah, okay. To be honest, I found it hard to believe that he used Reason (no offense to Reason-users). Reaktor makes more sense :P

Re: bit reduction pedal

i was asking foodeater about that other pedal he suggested, they just have demos of a synth through it, really tough to tell what it'd be like w/ guitar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4A7VFxIBj84 (skip to 1:40) (doh, this is the vid Joey mentioned. Didn't see that. Well, it's here for your viewing...
