Re: Non-functioning Juno 60 for 200 euros. Is it worth it?

I got an e-mail back from the guy: He doesn't know what's wrong with it. Sounds like this is a real gamble then :?

Re: Non-functioning Juno 60 for 200 euros. Is it worth it?

Whether or not it's a good price is largely dependent on what exactly is wrong with it. If it doesn't power up because of a messed up power cable - obviously it's the deal of the year. If there's a bunch of problems with voice chips or other circuitry, could be more of a money sink than just gettin...

Re: Should I get an analog mixer? If so, which one?

Totally up to you. There's been great music made with shitty equipment, and shitty music made with great equipment. This is true - no matter what gear you have, it all comes down to the amount of effort put into the music. Might actually be more beneficial for me to learn to get the sound I want wi...

Non-functioning Juno 60 for 200 euros. Is it worth it?

Hey all, I have the opportunity to buy a currently defunct Juno 60 for 200 euros. I don't know why it's not working; the only info given is "perfect cosmetic condition, but does not work." The person claims they haven't investigated why it's busted also. I know repairing vintage synths can be expens...

Re: Should I get an analog mixer? If so, which one?

It's so damn tempting! I know I don't need it, but from everyone's replies it sounds like it makes the creative process so much better. I will get one at one point in the future, I've decided. Maybe sometime later this year. But how do I know which one suits me the most? It's not like you can try th...

Re: Should I get an analog mixer? If so, which one?

Thanks for the replies so far everybody :D yes necessity rules over all purchases eh?! ;) it was no real trouble to work with just the interface - having a mixer just makes it easier to turn channels down as you play. If you are recording via firewire then you can edit tracks in your DAW to bring th...

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

I recently bought an SH-101 from Paul Matthewson (Toris) on eBay. Great guy, fast communication, not to mention that the SH-101 is in near perfect shape. If you have the opportunity to do business with him, do it, you won't regret it.

Thanks again, Paul!

Re: Should I get an analog mixer? If so, which one?

Only you are going to be able to answer that question, so once you get the audio interface if you hate the lack of a hands-on mixer you can always buy more stuff to solve your problems  This is true! I'll probably end up buying a mixer at some point down the road, regardless of what is said he...

Re: Should I get an analog mixer? If so, which one?

Hi, I have a similar setup to you and just recently got an analogue mixer. I love it mainly for the ability to 'play' it live. It's great to be able to bring instruments/channels in and out of the mix. so i agree with stab's suggestion if it's just for recording, however, i've not had as much fun h...

Re: Should I get an analog mixer? If so, which one?

An analogue mixer won't really add a great deal, as the Sapphire has a no latency DSP mix engine anyway so you don't have to worry about latency from your soundcard. Going through any of the mixers you mentioned would cause a drop in sound quality compared to going straight to the interface, and if...

Should I get an analog mixer? If so, which one?

Hey all, I'm pretty new to the sound production scene, and have recently acquired a few nice pieces of analog gear. So far, I've got an SH-101, a TR-606 and 707, and a x0xb0x. I have been planning on buying a Saffire PRO 40 for a while now, and I'll need to buy some nice monitors as well. All of thi...
