Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

Traded my MD SPS-1 MKII with alittlesound for his Roland V-Synth XT. Received the synth a few days ago in perfect condition and could not be happier.

Awesome, friendly, and communicative guy - would definitely do business with him again :)

Thanks again!

Re: Gear Trading Thread

I have a Vermona Perfourmer with CV/Gate and MIDI, colored-knobs edition that I'm looking to trade. Completely mint, with original box and manual.

I'm interested in trading for a Machinedrum UW+ MKII.

PM me if interested!

Re: So christmas is coming up, and I need ideas...

Sorry I'm such a scrooge. You should ask for either a Roland TR 606 or DR 55 drum machine. They're both cheap and easy. The DR 55 sounds especially great, better than 606, but also more limited. Yeah, I was going to suggest the TR-606 as it would go perfectly with his Juno. Wasn't sure what they we...

Doesn't look like you have a drum-machine of any sort. Ask for one an Electribe, or something similar :)

Re: Waldorf Blofeld Keyboard : most underrated of 2009

Pink for the gay aesthetics obviously. You might want to try naphtha (lighter fluid) on a cloth. Not too much or you'll start taking off the lovely white enamel. Actually, Goof Off is probably not quite as strong so you might want to see if that works before grabbing the Zippo fluid. Thanks!...

Re: Waldorf Blofeld Keyboard : most underrated of 2009

it's the closest thing to a gay synth... Says the guy with an E-MU Command Station  And yes, the Blokey is amazing. So happy I got one two weeks ago, especially at the price I paid. I've barely scratched the surface of it what it can do, mainly because I've been content messing around with the...

Re: Free or cheap program to chop and edit loops/audio

Thanks for the reply. That looks like a cool program but way too complex for what I'm wanting to do. I'm basically just looking for a stand alone program for the sake of simplicity. Chop loops, save chops, send to hardware sampler. The free programs I have now are nearly good enough. The only probl...

Well... yes!
If you're serious, then you're being pretty unrealistic. Unless your willing to pay for broken synths and then fix them up.

Renoise is a little bit over your asking price at $70, but it does everything you're asking for and much, much more.

Re: Oberkorn vs. MAQ 16/3

'positioning' on the Oberkorn3 is great fun! you take the X or Y gate out, mult it, and then send it back in to one(or more heehehee) of the jacks b0-b3. this causes the steps to play in different orders, staggered, odd only, pendulum in various combinations. SICK also does wonderful things when us...

Re: Oberkorn vs. MAQ 16/3

Don't completely rule out the MAQ though, just in case you come across a good deal. It's still an interesting and clever instrument. Good luck! Oh, I'm not ruling it out. If a good opportunity arises, I'll definitely consider it (one already has, but I still haven't decided). The whole screen thing...

Yes. They sound about as similar as one TB-303 compared to another.

Re: Oberkorn vs. MAQ 16/3

The LED display is fairly immediate, but no match for a physical analog interface. You have to press and press and scroll scroll scroll. Plus, the 7-segment LED is very old school so the messages are very cryptic to say the least. Look at the Doepfer logo. That's basically what the display looks li...

Re: Oberkorn vs. MAQ 16/3

What would you be primarily sequencing with these? If it's just CV stuff, I would say the oberkorn would be a better bet-I think the immediacy would trump the patch storage. If you'd be using it for midi on the other hand, the MAQ is definitely the way to go. You can do all sorts of crazy things wi...
