Oberkorn vs. MAQ 16/3

After a long time of thinking I should wait for the Cirklon, I've realized that I could probably get what I want and need out of simpler, less expensive analogue sequencer. I've been reading about the Oberkorn and MAQ, and they seem like the best contenders for the most immediate and easy to use MID...

Very, very cool track, and impressive that it's only the Future Retro! Some of the pads remind me N64 Zelda for some reason...

Mind sharing which cartoons helped inspire this?

Re: Doepfer Dark Time Sequencer Update (finally)

If I wasn't already saving up for a Cirklon, I might consider getting this. Looks like a lot of fun to jack around with, and would make an awesome companion for my Perfourmer. Too bad I wouldn't be able to take full advantage of the polyphony though...

Re: The SECOND thing you do when getting a new synth...

1) Receive new synth

2) Open the box - "Ooo, ahh! How nice this will look next to my other stuff."

3) Play some sounds for an hour and a half - "This thing's great! Totally worth the money."

4) Get on reddit and not touch it for another week.

The internet is, by far, man's greatest distraction.

NI Maschine Integration?

For you Maschine owners out there (sorry if this topic has already been covered. I couldn't find much on this specific subject.) How well has Maschine gotten along with your other hardware gear? I plan on getting a Sequentix Cirklon as soon as it's available, so I'd like to make sure that Maschine w...

Re: I think I need more knobs...

Yeah, ive read that the knob layout follows the signal path, which i like. Sometimes its hard to figure out whats going in front of what with my VFX. I dont like cheap feeling gear, but on the other hand if it means i can carry it around without straining my lower back then i may make an exception....

A Sunsyn and a Cwejman is a combination I'd like to hear.

But what will complete the modern sonic trifecta? :?:

That's the purpose of every thread in every forum known to man, regardless of the subject. As a mod, you should know this already

Re: Please Convince Me I Don't Need An Alesis Ion

Dubersive, Thanks again, although the essay you linked me to reeks of old, tired, pseudo Frankfurt School cliches that made my eyes roll. And I shall not quit drinking. But yes, you are probably right my list of cons easily outweighs the list of pros. Sorry to hear you didn't like the essay. Person...

You already answered your own question 10 times over with that list of cons.

Forget it, save your money (namely, quit drinking and looking at s**t you don't need) and get back to making music. :D

Also, read this essay: Stuff

Re: Blofeld Keyboard vs Nord Lead 2x

I've must have seen that videos at least 30 times each!!! But Mr.Jexus himself says that Blofeld it's not very good at emulating VA, or pushing sounds to the limits (I suppose higher FM rates) that's why I'm asking for 2nd opinions. Thanks for your comments! As of 3 days ago, I am a very happy owne...

Re: Elektron Octatrack!

Well, s**t. Looks like I might want to move up to a UW+ then. Would probably be a better alternative to getting a Yamaha a5000, anyhow...thanks for the info, guys.

Sorry, don't want to derail the thread. I take it we can expect the price of the Octatrack to be similar to their other products then?

2 MB in UW mk1
So how many samples on average does that provide space for? Just curious, because I bought a used SPS-1 MKII, thinking the extra 500-600 extra dollars wasn't worth it for 2.5mb on the UW. I keep hearing otherwise though.

Re: Reverb Advice - Ensoniq dp4+

Can anyone else chime in on the DP4+? Well, I've got the DP/4, not the plus version, but the only difference is a few extra algos (I've also heard there are some improvements with noisefloor, but meh) It has a stupendous reverb - definitely what it is most known for. The amount of I/O's it offers a...
