Re: Slim Phatty

Yeah, but, multitracking's a pain in the a*s if you just want some simple chords. Not saying that I think it's a good idea to buy 3 or 4 SPs for a daisy-chain, but I can understand the desire to have a polyphonic moog in order to avoid multitracking. Not to mention Tekkentool's point for live perfo...

Re: Slim Phatty

You can have a polyphonic Moog for free... MULTITRACK. Buying eighteen expensive Moogs just so you can do something you could do for free is absolutely... well, yeah. I am among the winners of the Stabby Challenge. :) Yeah, but, multitracking's a pain in the a*s if you just want some simple chords....

Re: I think I need more knobs...

Dubersive: Those Novation products look like good possibilities, but they seem to be billed more as controllers than actual synths. I dont know much about them, but if theyve got decent sounds and are programmable, they might be a good choice. They seem to be quite a bargain. I've heard nothing but...

How long do you think they'll be offering this version? I really want it, but I'm gonna need a year or two (or three) to save up for the thing...

A Novation X-Station 61 or Xio-synth 49 sounds like it might fit the bill for you. You can get both at very good prices.

Re: If a Prophet 08 comes in... what goes out?

If you have doubts about letting the Microwave go, keep it. After you get the P08, see how well it fits in with everything. By then you probably will have either confirmed or dispelled any doubts you had

Re: Which synth should I get for $700 or less...

Asking that question on the waldorf users mailing list would be the best way to find out. I stopped following the list when I sold my blofeld so I don't know, you could try searching the list as well. Google it to get the page for signing up / searching the archives. Ah, I wasn't aware there was a ...

Re: Which synth should I get for $700 or less...

blofeld - sounds awesome, beware of failing encoders though. Does anyone know if the Blofeld Keyboard has issues with the encoders as well? I picked mine up for 500 euros ($691), which I think is an awesome deal. Haven't received it yet, but the seller said it's in mint condition. Hopefully I won't...

Oh yes. Sometimes I feel like I need to get a degree in electrical and sound engineering to fully understand how Reaktor works under the hood. I gave up trying to learn it's intricacies awhile ago. Now, I just stick to the professional and community-made synths and modules :P

Re: Good sequencer for a Vermona DRMI MkIII?

akai mpc hello how come no one mentioned this? you can get these dirt cheap now compared to old prices, and they have some of the best sequencers. i like the 1000 with JJOS2XL I honestly don't think I would have the patience for an MPC, as popular as they are. Lots of menu-diving from what I unders...

Re: so who's shelled out for an iPad?

I would wait until they put out a version that's more than just a gigantic iphone. Or better yet, wait for Asus' response to iPad: the Eee Pad. Stupid name, I know, but IMO it looks better in almost every way. Not trying to instigate a PC vs Mac war here. Those are stupid. I just honestly think that...

Re: Favorite Synth for Bass Sounds

It sounds thin and nasal to me, I find the filter boring, and it only has one oscillator, greatly limiting it's possible bass sounds. IMO it's a piece of c**p. Fair enough :D Can't argue about the lack of oscillators. That really gets on my nerves too. I quite like the filter though, simple as it is.
