Re: What is the best FREEWARE for Pads?

I forgot to mention that I did try a KVR Audio search. It's no good for this. The categories that you can search for have very little to do with different instrument patches. it's mostly based upon function: VST effect or VST instrument, and which type of synthesis, host requirements, 32 or 64 bit, ...

Re: What is the best FREEWARE for Pads?

@griffin avid, Thanks dude but each of those categories is what I'm looking for; variety. The HG Fortune stuff tends to be the type c "KORG" stuff you mentioned, only on crack and in a horror space flick. Also, as mentioned before some of the other stuff is either atonal or multitonal which destroys...

Re: What is the best FREEWARE for Pads?

Almost every VSTi synth claims to be able to do pads too, but not all of them do pads so well. There's just too much to choose from. But I guess I'll give it a try again. (KVR search, that is).

Re: What is the best FREEWARE for Pads?

Thanks, I'm familiar with those. Any other ideas? I guess there is no escaping the HG Fortune romplers. I like the ones by them I've tried so far (LaserBlade and all the STS-synths) but I'm hoping for a bit more control and less chaotic sounding. In particular I need greater control over the pitches...

What is the best FREEWARE for Pads?

I'm looking for freeware only. My cashflow is nil. But I'd like to find some good new evolving pads, preferably something that has some variety but is not too abstract and yet not boring either.

What is out there that you know is good for pads that's freeware?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Cleaning your VST closet...

Well i started cleaning out my audio samples recently. It was definately worth it. During the process I realised how many weak samples I still had around. When I first made them I thought they were genius, but I've improved at making sounds recently so I know they were crappy now. On interesting thi...

Re: How Do I Make VSTi's More Like Hardware?

The problem I had with midi controllers is the control layouts are very 'generic' .. its not like you have a block of 4 filter controls, a block of oscillator controls.. you usually get either rows or one big block... Not much can be done about that though unless you want to go custom. I guess the ...

How Do I Make VSTi's More Like Hardware?

Hello, So I am wondering how to make VSTi's more like hardware. I don't mean in terms of sound quality; I already know how to do that. I mean in terms of workflow and control. So far I use a MIDI controller, but I was hoping you guys might have some other more advanced tips. What do you th...

Re: Cleaning your VST closet...

Well I recently deleted a bunch of freeware VSTi synths. I pretty much ditched them if they had... -demo mode muting/static/annoying tones/talking -bad interface -weak sounds -nothing unique to offer -bugginess and crashiness Overall, it felt pretty good. I still have about 60 freeware VSTi synths, ...

I did have some Virus samples at one point, but I don't think I used any on this tune. All the main synths are Vember Surge, Toxic Biohazard, and maybe Kore Player. It's pretty much all software.

Thanks for listening and commenting. :)

Re: Cleaning your VST closet...

Hey this is why DAW's have search bars, you never know when you might need that grain delay or ring shifter.... Yep. This is why I have a lot of VST's. I renamed all of my VST's according to type so I can just type in "EQ" for example and all of my plugins with "EQ" in their name pop up. Then I can...

Re: Cleaning your VST closet...

if the VST sucks, it gets deleted, if it doesn't, why delete it? Well having 350 VST's is just too much. And most of them don't actually suck. But I got rid of a lot that weren't needed and some that I just couldn't figure out. I figure that having fewer that I know how to use fully is better than ...

Where in USA can I buy a first gen Axiom 61 MIDI Controller?

I'm looking for a first gen Axiom 61 MIDI controller... used like new, or new. I don't want the 2nd or 3rd gen because they are too expensive and I don't need the newer features. And I have a first gen Axiom 25 so I know how they work. Does anybody know a good place to find those? Everywhere I look ...
