Cleaning your VST closet...

So today I finally cleaned up my VST effects folder. I have been collecting freeware VST effects since about 2006 and I had about 350 of them looming in the folder. So it took me an hour or two to figure out which ones were essential and which ones I could safely delete. I managed to delete 220 of t...

Re: Windows 7 and audio glitches

It would be wise to optimize your computer to be a DAW. You can search Google for sites using terms like "DAW optimization" or "DAW tweaks" a lot of the info for XP and Vista will apply to Windows 7 as well. Windows 7 and Vista are in the same family of operating systems. Anyways it's time consuming...

Zebralette is now FREE

Zebralette is now freeware! Install the new Zebra demo and the Zebralette that it comes with is fully functional. The nice thing is that you can learn how to use Zebralette and then you will have learned a lot of the basics of how Zebra works, which is more powerful. Both synths have morphing drawab...

This, I entirely agree with. :geek:

Here's what I got done with yesterday: http://soundcloud.com/astroidmist/convectionary-6th-kind It's done using only software; but don't let that scare you. I actually enjoyed composing and mixing this track. Usually it's a big struggle for me, but this one worked out. I hope you enjoy thi...

If you guys haven't heard Bluetech, check him out. Some of his older tunes like on Elementary Particles are dubby in a good yet modern way.

Yeah, my mistake in my original post. I meant to ask if people used USB-based MIDI or DIN-based MIDI. It's been an interesting poll though anyhow.

Re: How to balance the vol. of tracks in a mix

I didn't read all of the replies, but I wanted to add... It can be useful to check the levels of a mix by temporarily setting the output to mono and listening to the mix in mono. It keeps some of the stereophonic distractions down and you can just focus on the levels. Sometimes it helps with EQing a...

Wow that was cool. I used to have that album. The album version is more refined than that live performance, but it's all good. That was one of my favorite tunes as a kid.

Re: Kore RIP

I don't have Kore, but I do like Kore Player with some paid-for SoundPacks. I'm hoping they drop the prices of the SoundPacks and still support the registration/activation of them. The sound quality of those SoundPacks are typically really really good. It's too bad they are pissing off their own use...

Re: Beat Thang Virtual Help Needed...

Yeah I run it in standalone mode sometimes, or as a VSTi in EnergyXT. It doesn't have multiple outputs though. I will try the BeatKangz website. All I found there so far was people wishing it had multiple outs or individual track/instrument rendering. But thanks for at least responding. I guess I ju...
