Re: UK to US Power Converters for Akai S01 Sampler

Good deal Lovecraft! Hopefully a voltage converter is all you'll need.

Re: UK to US Power Converters for Akai S01 Sampler

Don't feed it the wrong voltage, that could damage something inside the Akai. I use a Goldsource voltage converter for my MicroWave. It steps up and steps down a variety of voltages: 110/117/120V AC to 220/230/240V AC and vice versa. Goldsource ST500 I have two of these, one for the studio and one f...

Hi Europanaut, any success with VCO 2? Just curious.

Re: Arp 2600 osc scaling.

The good thing about the ARP 2600's design is that all three 4027's are exactly the same. After you're able to plug in one of the other 4027's you'll know for sure if it's the 4027 that has an issue or something else in VCO 2. You can check now for +/-15vdc and ground to the 4027 on pins 6, 7 and 8....

Re: Arp 2600 osc scaling.

Hi, are you sure it's the 4027-1 and not something on VCO 2's main section? Can you try swapping VCO 2's 4027 with a known good one from VCO 1 or 3? Also if you replaced any VCO 2 FM control sliders you should check to make sure none of them are bleeding any DC offset or modulation to the 4027. One ...

Re: Korg Might Be Up To Something.

I believe it's the shortage of ivory tinted plastic that's caused manufacturers to resort to minikeys! :D

Re: Korg Might Be Up To Something.

Wow, if it's an ARP 2600 that would be amazing! There's 9 versions of that instrument to chose from: Blue Marvin, Gray Meanie..orange-on-black... I have two TTSH's but I'm excited if it's a 2600. Not necessarily for me but for those that don't want to go the DIY route. The idea of a PS-3200 sounds s...

Re: TTSH: Two Thousand Six Hundred (DIY Arp 2600 Clone)

Here's a final TTSH clip for ideas of what it sounds like. It's a test I made to check the functionality of both my second TTSH (the Blue Marvin-ish) and ARP 1601 Sequencer clone which I just completed building. Both the Ver.1 and Ver.2 TTSH's and the ARP sequencer clone are the only instruments (no...

Re: An Idea: Mutual 110V-240V Transformer Swapping?

I was going to rewire or replace the transformer in my 220V Microwave but ended up purchasing a Goldsource voltage transformer converter. I figure I might end up with more 220V gear and can run them on a separate power strip. The Goldsource worked so well that I bought a second one for all my wife's...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

Hey Broadwave, I'll give it a shot. I have the scanned PPC installation docs and it should be easy if they used the original circuit design. My fear is the CV and LFO might be generated by some other means and the PPC sends signals to vary that operation instead of the CV going thru the PPC.

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

Following up on a post I made a few pages ago, I received a response from Korg regarding PPC vibrato: "I heard back from the development team and unlike the original Odyssey, the PPC vibrato on the new Odyssey is not added to CV out. Unfortunately, we do not have schematics to provide or can authori...

Re: TTSH: Two Thousand Six Hundred (DIY Arp 2600 Clone)

Here's a very-very simple demo of the TTSH and Odyssey, Voyager and MS-20 kit. The demo is quite clinical but you can hear the difference in each synth, especially the filters. I used the Type III filter on the Odyssey...maybe I should have tried the Type II? The MS-20 has a sound of it's own. I tri...
