Re: Parts for VINTAGE SYNTHESIZERS.....

Hi,

I'm looking for a potentiometer for a Roland PG-200. One of the smaller ones that turns all the way around rather than the 3 position ones. I've had a scan through the links on this thread but a lot of them are dead. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Re: Yamaha TX7. How much should I ask for?

I sold one for about £75 a few months ago (which is good considering I paid £20 for it)

Re: Movement Systems Drum Machine

Well.....my SDS-7 died the other night ! Something in the powersupply has gone south. In general I get the feeling that SDS-7´s are a bit shaky. Lot´s of electronics inside and the powersupply is a bit underdimensioned. My SDS-7 is fully loaded with 12 modules. I guess it puts a big strain on the p...

Re: places to buy in london?

One place does spring to mind, but its a fair old way from the centre of town: http://www.funky-junk.com/ As V301H says most of the instrument shops are in Denmark Street W1, but you won't find many synths there, even less of them will be vintage and they will all be vastly overpriced. On occasion y...

Re: Best solution for listening to vinyl, phono preamp?

I had a similar situation as I got up a 1210 recently for £90 (for a long time I had no turntable but plenty of vinyl. I picked up a cheap (but capable) Denon amplifier for about £25 and a set of barely used Celestion speakers for £12, both from ebay. For £127 all in I can't really argue, and as you...

Re: Have you ever... thrown away a synth?

Never a synth, but a few broken effects pedals when I was younger (probably 10 years ago). It kills me now as although they were broken at the time I think I'm tech savvy enough now to fix them.

Re: 808 Advice.....

What I often find with these gumtree bargains is that they say its in London and then when it comes down to it they say "its actually in Newcastle, I'm selling it for my brother, why don't you paypal me the cash?".

Not always though. Hopefully you've got yourself a deal.

£470 sounds too good to be true. You've got to get lucky sometimes though.

Re: 808 Advice.....

If the price is suspiciously low (how much?), I'd look out for the fact he might be looking to rob you.

That said maybe I'm being paranoid.

Novation X-Station going out of tune

Hi all, My X-Station 25 has started behaving quite erratically. Generally I use it as an audio interface and MIDI controller connected to Logic via USB. My problem is that after a few minutes of playing, the tuning will shift. This could be by a semitone or even more and any attempts to fix it are u...

Re: Why analog?

There is variance, there is difference, and there is a lack of precision. =D> Based on my experience with an MS-20 and SH-2 vs. Virus C and Radias (among other synths), it's quite hard to explain all the different nuances of why it's easier for me to achieve a sound that like with the older analogs...

would you relaquer your rock and roll hero's guitar? h**l no. but you would put new strings on it.. Repair any functionality issues. Keep the aesthetic. ~Steve Agreed. If you don't want it, ebay it. You'll no doubt get a good price for it as its probably priceless to ATR fans. If you want a 909, yo...
