Re: Waldorf Q problems? rare or universal?

Thanks for the further info, Mino. My main concern is the glowing but cautionary reviews in SOS (who, despite some opinions here, I trust nearly implicitly.) I would very much like to have that Q rack. I'd also like to have a Schmidt Polysynth. I'd also like a chromium unicorn that shoots lasers out...

Re: What is a "Slip In/Slip Out" battery holder?

Since I was about to post this, and since it looks like it's been discussed previously, I will add my deux centimes: You need to change the AN1x battery when the display says BATTERY LOW when you turn it on. If the battery goes dead, or you remove the battery during work on the innards, memory basic...

Excellent. Thank you, everyone. Now, it's just a matter of money. Let's see... who's ripe for a con...?

Re: Waldorf Q problems? rare or universal?

Ah. I was reading through another thread and someone implied there is a problem with the sequencer, that maybe it was never fully implemented, and also some of the controls were touchy. I already have uQ and uWaveXT, so I'm debating on getting a Q, if it doesn't actually have any notorious problems....

Waldorf Q problems? rare or universal?

I've been reading here and there about people having problems with their Waldorf Q or Q Phoenix, and some inferrence that it was never finished as a design. Is this only a few bad apples or are their known problems with all Qs that will probably never be fixed? There is a yellow Q Rack on eBay right...

Re: AN1x parts?

Muchas gracias, gordwiebe. My AN1x's display is not the brightest of the bunch, either, but I suspect it just looks that way. There's no contrast knob, either, that I can find. The LCD has a very slow refresh, too. I think the Yamaha team that designed it spent all their budget on functional parts a...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

270708170743 I really want to ask this guy if this keyboard has been bathed in the blood of virgins under a solar eclipse during a full allignment of the planets in view of a four horned nine eyed goat. But he'd probably just tell me I'm unworthy for being poor and if I can't afford it that's not h...

Re: AN1x parts?

gordwiebe, you are a gentleman and a scholar. (Assuming "gord" means Gordon, otherwise, a lady and a scholar, as the case may be. :) ) If they sent you the files digitally, please post them here for everyone's benefit. I got the D#1 key working. All I did was clean the contacts and contact strip wit...

Re: AN1x parts?

Thanks, Zamise and polar69, good suggestions. I have found places on the web, after extensive searching, for stuff like Korg or Ensoniq parts &c. and so on. Not so many places for Yamaha parts for some reason. After I peeled open the AN1x (the bottom plate is held on by a god awful number of screws,...

AN1x parts?

Well, I got an AN1x, very nice, impressive access to a lot of settings as long as you have a light bright enough to see all the small text around the knobs and buttons. Apparently the Postal Service thought it would look better with the left rear corner bashed in just enough to bend the metal of the...

Well, there's a 2600 right now on eBay for $11,500 OBO with $375 S&H if anyone wants to sell their Pininfarina for it.

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer

The interface is really nice. I hope to see it on more realistically designed products, rather than this pocket sized device. For now, I think I'll stick with my Novation X-Station. It does pretty much the same thing and has a real keyboard.

Re: Poly 800

It really sounds surprisingly better than it looks as if it should. Even the guitar like sounds are very realistic and yet have a nice synthy kind of touch that in a way almost makes them sound more real. I don't know how better to explain it. It's as if the sound had come from a real performance an...

Re: AN-1X v. ZR-76

Well, if this highly inestimable database had provided me with an indefatigable answer, I wouldn't have had to ask it here. I'm very smart in a number of ways and laughably ignorant in others. I like to think I know the difference and that's the time to ask questions, even if the answers are obvious...

Re: AN-1X v. ZR-76

Why do you want an An1x if you already have a keyboard that can do anything that you would want to do with the An1x?? I said "seems to" since I don't know the AN-1X. It seemed easier to ask here on the forum than to download the AN-1X manual if it's available and compare it to the nearly 500 pages ...
