JP8000 MIDI Issue

Hi there - It's been a long time since I've used my JP (I've been very busy) Today I was playing around with it - rekindling the old fire - and I had a nice idea that I wanted to midi. Now on the synth, the lower patch was selected and goes through MIDI channel 2. When I played the JP locally, the a...

Re: Have Arturia kinda missed their chance with the Minibrut

Good points. I guess really I'm just disappointed they haven't released anything that I was interested in. Didn't realize they sold that many workstations!

Re: Aalto on sale!

Madrona Labs Aalto is on sale at the moment for only $66, I'd recommend picking it up if you use software synths. It's an interestingly different kind of synth in that it's based more around the west coast way of doing things than your average east coast subtractive. The most important thing is tha...

Re: Have Arturia kinda missed their chance with the Minibrut

I think Korg missed their chance when they stopped making the MS-20 in 1983. Just think of the THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS they could have been making selling those between then and now. But no, people had to buy DX-7s and MiniBrutes to tide them over. I do agree with this. While one would argue that they...

Anyone care to listen to my new work in progress? 90 BPM

https://soundcloud.com/davidlovas/echo I was going for a sort of relaxing track - tell me what you think I used Zebra2, Realguitar 2, Sylenth, and my JV1080 for one of the tracks. I plan to add various SFX as well as perhaps a pad at some point, and of course crash symbols. The drums were very rush...

Re: Synth examples, post them here.

Here's a patch I created on a the Fizmo a while ago. Everything comes out of the board itself. No Post-Processing. Makes excellent use of some of the transwaves, as well as some of the standard waveforms. It sounds very spacey and hypnotic. I slowly increase the filters (globally for all oscillators...

Re: New Trance track that I have created - what do you think

this is clearly a well-produced track, although i'm not big on trance. nice to see a wavetable-ish synth in a song on here, seeing as how analog is just slightly overrated. emphasis on slighlty . still, it held my interest which is more than I can say about most trance music. Thanks man! Means a lot.

New Trance track that I have created - what do you think?

Used the Fizmo (for the bass) - JP8000 for pads (although I still have to upload the version with the pad to soundcloud) Zebra2 is pretty much everything else. Oh yes - and RealGuitar2 for the guitar. http://www.soundcloud.com/davidlovas/littoral I have a habit of naming my tracks after the Dictiona...

Re: Knobs or Sliders?

I prefer knobs in all situations - especially when a digital parameter display accompanies them - (ie. ensoniq fizmo - altho the fizmo's display sucks, and so does the level of manual control...) things like the virus, and the solaris and other's however are utilizing knobs in great ways... I'd love...

Re: track i've made for a remix contest - what do you think.

This remix sounds great to me. What gear did you use to do the remix? Thanks! I made all the sounds myself. It starts of with zebra2 (both of those first sounds), then the first bass that comes in is an instance of sylenth1, the 3rd sound that comes in (the one playing the same melody from the begi...

now, now, there, there.. :) I think what he meant was that this lower grade kinda grammar often is an alarm bell for some pointless kid trying to appear like some "gangsta whatever DJ", and as such often not worth checking out, as there're millions of those. Personally I'm not really bothered by 'w...
