Re: din sync cable
I figured out which cable it was without having to test it. Didn't think using a wrong cable would be too dangerous, but had to check.

din sync cable
I have a pile midi cables, one being a din sync cable with all 5 pins connected. I'm not sure which one it is though.
Any danger in just hooking them up to test? I don't have any special tools for testing the pin connections.

Re: tr-606 power
Could be the soldering of the jack to the board is loose. That's what I'd check... And you would be correct sir! I looked closer and there was a crack around one of the joints - hence having to shift it into better contact. This is my favorite of all vintage synth forums that I go to. It's the only...

Re: tr-606 power
I'm using a chinese adapter now. One of the plugs fits pretty well, well enough that you would think it should be fine. That's why I was thinking it might be something to do with the 606. It is not as snug as another boss power supply I just tried (which is the wrong voltage.) Guess I'll fork out fo...

tr-606 power [solved]
I have an issue with my 606 where the power supply plugged into the dc in jack has to be yanked to one side for it to power up. Sometimes it'll just sit right and power one without a problem. I originally thought the generic power supply I had was bad, but just switched it over and it's the same dea...

^^ I would snap that up if I was in the same contintent. Just had to sell my second esq-1 because of issues.
Assume this is a scam, asian seller listed a bunch of gear for 24hr auctions, no photos and no feedback in 7years. People are bidding on it though.

Re: Roland MC-80EX vs E-MU 2500 command module.
Never used either, but looking at the 2500 I'm assuming it's a lot like the command stations in terms of sequencing, which are very capable sequencers. You can switch between recording modes without stopping so it would work well for looped based sequencing. If the 2500 is same or better than the co...

Re: esq-1 issue
It's pretty much unresponsive to button presses now and the screen goes blank pretty often, though doesnt reset on it own and you can always play sound from then keys. I see the part you mention rhino. So you think replacing that is the next step? No idea how to deal with psu if that's the problem. ...

Re: esq-1 issue
I cleaned every connector, changed the battery and installed the latest os eproms. Unfortunately it still goes into the self-test mode at random times. Makes for 'exciting' programming not knowing when you might lost what you're working on. The buttons also become non responsive for short periods of...

Re: Casio CZ series
Just got a cz-101 for $50. The original owner must have been a real cz freak because it came with a whole bunch of paraphernalia, manuals, sound data books, advertisements from magazines and photocopied cz-101 articles. Also came with a program in a box for the atari st. Haven't searched yet, but I ...
