Not sure how you'd do it on a DX7, but if you have a monophonic analog, you'd set the filter cut-off low around 25% or so, filter resonance around 50%, filter envelope mod close to 100%. The filter envelope should have an instant attack, short decay & release and sustain at about 25%. Amp envelope ...

Human League "Human" sound
What is the sound that appears at the beginning and the middle of "Human" by the Human League? It's this descending "swoosh" sound that appears after the girl says "while we apart I was human too".
This sound has also been used on a lot of other Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis tracks.

Micke you already posted this info on another forum and it is still wrong. According to Ivan, lead singer and Stefan's brother: "No Prophets were used on the first album to my recollection. Allan McCarthy played that line so I don't know precisely, but the Polymoog was his main keyboard at the time....

Are you sure the first one is FM? The second version is either DX7 or D-50, or possibly M-1.

The sound you hear on Van Halen's 1984 album is Eddie playing his OB8 through a Marshall Amp, so it's not uncommon to run your synth through an amp.
