Re: Analog Voices, 8 enough?

For me, 90% of the time one voice is enough. When I need more than that, I use my sampler or a digital synth. I used to think that I needed some big polyphonic analog synth to make good electronic music, but I found out in practice it's just not that necessary. I can think of dozens of artists who h...

Re: Portable Gear

Just buy a deep cycle battery or two (like the ones they sell for RVs and boats), and a power inverter. You could power a rack of synths and a small PA for hours that way.

Re: Korg reduces microSampler price

When I watch the youtube videos it seems like it's supposed to be an MPC lite, korg style , but then instead of pads they mistakenly stuck a useless keyboard on the thing. I mean, wtf, in every demo video the keyboard is just being used as drum pads 90% of the time. Cool concept, but seems like kind...

Re: Korg reduces microSampler price

I wasn't even aware this thing existed. Unfortunately for Korg, you can buy an old Akai sampler with 10x the capabilities for half that price these days. Seems like it would have limited appeal.

Re: Trent Reznor on The Social Network score

Oddly, I didn't really care for the original Solaris, but Stalker is one of my favorite films of all time.

I had the same problem and ordered the kit with the slit side panels. But: I got one with honeycomb! :D
I really hope I'm that lucky!

Re: Casio cz101 problem....

I don't think anybody is actually watching this thread or gives a rats a*s about using the mult-voice mode on a cz101, but I did end getting this to work. So, I'm just going to post the solution here in case somebody having the same problem digs this thread up in a search 3 years from now (When CZ10...

Casio cz101 problem....

I just bought a used casio cz101 and have been having trouble getting the multi-voice mode to work. I read the manual and everything else on the synth works exactly as described, but I cant for the life of me get it to play more than two presets simultaneously. In the manual it says that in mono (so...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

Somebody paid almost $350 for a casio cz101: 200564660483 I was watching the auction becasue it had so many mistakes in the listing throwing red flags that might keep people from buying it, so I thought I would low ball it and maybe get it cheap. Unfortunately those mistakes ended up being selling p...
