As far as a sub $199 interface, look for an old pre sonus, like a firebox or fire pod; they're great and you can usually pick them up for under $199 at guitar center used.

+1 for the novation. Their stuff is pretty sweet. I just checked guitar center used, and at the moment, there's a K-station used for $199. Also, what about the roland gaia? Don't have much experience with these, but they seem decent. Any thoughts?

The xiosynth is awesome. I've played the mopho before, but only briefly. I have looked at the sh 201 before, and I have to admit, the super saw looks tempting.
