Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.
i feel like reporting that simply because it says: money will be going to firearms related clubs, charities ect just not decided yet so it will be used for good some of the proceeds are going to used for good causes I should take out a listing that just says "how much money do you want to give me?" ...

New Moog
http://www.moogmusic.com/sight-and-sound/product_demo/namm-2013-next-moog looks like a phatty with a bit more filter options. so far I'm merely distracted by the animations on the video.... 2 oscs with sub-osc seems strange to me to make a note of how stable the tuning on the oscillators is in this ...

Re: Kurzweil pc3x vs.....something cheaper
I think you know what you're doing, but just over thinking it. Have you edited patches on the computer? they have that for pc3 users, right? coming from a pc3k8, I don't see how there's anything superior currently on market offering. I'd like to try a Kronos, but I get the feeling it'd be disappoint...

I haven't seen a cat this nice in a while and is going to bid. So it's a good time to bust out your point of reference pricing guides

Re: What synth? (Eloy - Mysterious Monolith)
don't know, but a big +1 for eloy. castle in the air is my favorite. there's harmonious vocals and guitar that just sounds like a weird guitar effect. Plus the drummer keeps time with the open hat for pretty much the entire song.

Re: Dx7 programming
choice is yours. my opinion on the value of ipad is documented....
contrarily - anything that will all you to assign a sysex message to a control surface will let you edit the params of the dx7. plenty of things that do that.

Re: Dx7 programming
beings as you're already familiar with and like the device itself (so I can't suggest a knobby midi controller and software) what about a touchosc template for ipad?

Re: New Korgs
If you want MIDI control, you probably don't care about the cute and flawed things that happen when control voltage fails to perfectly control an oscillator- which is part of the charm of analog sound. laying it on pretty thick, eh? I guess I've got to ditch that midi/cv module now since my modular...

Re: Ipad vs. Conventional Hardware costs
it all depends on the individual apps. I'd grab midi monitor and see what messages are coming out of your controller. Then check the individual apps manuals for what cc's can control what parameters.

Re: Ipad vs. Conventional Hardware costs
i'm generally with you, but it's difficult for me to fill up 16gb given the file system of the ipad I did already and had to do some purging.... Under settings/usage you can see what apps are eating up what space...something I never seem to notice when snagging them. Sampletank 1.0 GB Tabletop 790 ...

Re: Ipad vs. Conventional Hardware costs
My iPad was almost $800 !!! Wtf ?! I try my hardest not to buy off the shelf. I'll let someone else take the hit and swoop in with cash on craigslist. ;) it's an ipad2 16gb wifi and I got it a year+ ago from craigslist. guy that bought it said "I didn't realize how much you need the internet for th...

Re: Wanted: DSI Evolver waveforms
not that i'm in favor of this response BUT you could hand draw them in audacity. I couldn't quickly find any other answer with google.
here's the wave dump utility. not sure if it'll help.
