Re: New Korgs

but surprisingly there is no MFB keyboard monosynth, keyboards are generally too difficult to source and warehouse for small time manufacturers. It's one of those buy 1 and it's ridiculously expensive, buy 10000 and it's cheap sorta things. combination of cost, added complexity, and storage space m...

Re: New Korgs

multi-plexing! :D -'twere a joke, I don't know how/if multi-plexed cv's work for anything. real cv, not just panel controls. That's actually something I want to proto - a mux / demux as a sequential switch. I'd like to do the same thing with a resonant filter bank.... I digress..... edit: atmega328 ...

Re: New Korgs

Does the idea of another VA MS20 give anywhere near the levels of excitement a potentially real analogue MS20 does? anything patchable wets my whistle. I dare say I like the idea of an analog patchable digitally voiced synth better than an analog. Doesn't matter to me though as long as it plays nic...

Re: New Korgs

I don't get it, why would a modern analog monosynth have to be horribly expensive? 1. Keyboard = $$$ (see Mopho and Phatty as examples), though Korg have an edge here if they are reusing the board from the Micros 2. MS20 has TWO filters, more complex VCOs and EGs than Monotrons. 3. The Dark Energy ...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

just a terrible listing all the way around 181051357512 - "jupiter 8 alternative" - all the pictures are backwards (huh, what?) - what looks like a big melty / blemishy spot by the bender & sliders that is not described in the listing - "one key needs more pressure to make sound" - copy/paste listin...

Re: New Korgs

I'm heavily skeptical but switching only the headphone jack, an led, and some screws seems like a lackluster, arbitrary decision for a forger. Not a very flashy move. Additionally, stuffing all those circuits in a shell they already have designed seems plausible. The only holdup on the R&D side woul...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

expensive but I don't think I've ever seen a mk2 with reverse keys.

ps: completed listings has the mk2's going for a pretty penny (regardless of whether I agree with it) so the price might not be that terrible.

121035592394 Someone pick this stuff up! I actually could use some of these pieces, it's a shame he can't ship. :( Really would hate to see this stuff "headed for the recycle center unless somebody wants to claim them." I'm relatively close to the area, but am I missing something or is that s...

Re: M-Audio Venom $200 at Sweetwater

That is all the venom amounts to, a controller, since the machine is close to useless without the computer for editing. An interesting point if expressed rather bluntly ;) Deserved. I'll state my position more objectively as my last post was all bias and no facts. First, they bill it as "all the im...

Re: M-Audio Venom $200 at Sweetwater

Wow, that seems like a steal. I've been looking for a board with an audio and midi interface built in and it actually sounds pretty good in the videos I've watched. if you're looking for an audio interface, built in: DO NOT BUY! terrible s/n ratio, low headroom, just a c**p interface. Also, the mid...

Re: DX 21 vs CZ 1000

are you a software guy? both of them can be done easily in software, but more particularly, there's an app for ipad called dxi that makes a 4-op fm synth useless imho. way easier to program and sounds the same or better. in any case, if you find someone willing to trade/pay something half decent for...
