Re: Yamaha DX 7 Vs Roland JV-1080

Having owned both of those - I wouldn't think you'd want either one for a starter synth (even for "80's" sounds) If you're just using presets on the dx7, then maybe that'd work for you, but imo you wouldn't be able to get good sounding strings for that full 80's pad sound. The jv-1080 is a nice litt...

Re: Roland Gaia SH01 vs JP8000/JP8080

I only "fooled around" (one night stand?) with the gaia in a guitar center and my response was meh? i'd definitely find a cheap jp-8080 (occasionally one slips through the cracks sub-$400) and then buy an sh-32 with the difference. Re: novation k station

"I liked the filters in the novation more though" how do the filters in that compare to the bass station? I had a bass station rack and felt the filters in it were meh (kind of flat sounding). Yeah, they sounded full, but you could never get them to sound lush. just wondering if they're any differe...

Re: Mono analog synth?

I recently had a novation bass station and felt the filters sounded flat. They're interesting, but not worth the $. The evolver is a great piece. It has a wide palette of sounds and the sequencing is intuitive too. I recently got a studio electronics atc - and if you're looking for a mono beast - th...
