Re: first song ever! criticisms please

Sounds like Kraftwerk.

IMO its a bit repetitive. Needs to be a bit more melodic. A lead or something.

That said, its music... Completely subjective. My opinion means nothing... Others may like that kind of ambient, minimalist, rhythmic kind of thing

Re: synth speculation rant

I completely agree. From my post it sounded like I was a massive fan or something. I don't constantly walk around thinking about the Jupiter Sound... or whatever. It's the musician and the sound designer.... not the gear. I'm just saying that people pay for that hyped sound, not to look at there Jup...

Re: synth speculation rant

Plus Vintage stuff breaks... the person would buy it... it would break.... they would have to sell it for a lower price or spend a fortune getting it repaired... then have to resell it for the same amount of money they bought it for

Re: synth speculation rant

1) It's bad internet-etiquette to slag a post on one forum on another. You should be ballsy enough to post over there- and share your feelings in that thread. Obviously you were lurking. 2) This is anecdotal. You could have started a new thread here with the general idea about people reselling synt...

Re: Does the Gaia actually generate it's own waves?

Make a simple test... Take one sawtooth wave, transpose it down to 20/10hz... if, as you go down, the waveform gets darker and looses harmonics, then it´s a sample, if it retains its harmonics then that oscillator is generating that wave. I think if Roland were going to use PCM's they would make su...

Does the Gaia actually generate it's own waves?

I was reading a post a while ago where someone was saying that the JP-8000 actually generated its' supersaw wave, while the Gaia just had a PCM of a "Supersaw wave". That got me thinking. The only waveform you can tweak and modulate on the Gaia is the Pulse wave, so are the other waveforms PCM's or ...

Re: JX-3P: LFO delay isn't working with MIDI and Sequencer

I don't own a JX-3p nor have any idea about the problem. But I will say that the midi implementation was apparently extremely primitive. NOTE ON/OFF ONLY.

Re: New synth from Roland?

After the facepalm (those demo's were truly awful) I thought I would write what I actually think and what I have picked up from discussions here and all over the interweb. I think firstly people need to remember that Roland is a company. The primary aim of companies is to make money. Roland is obvio...

R3 questions

Thinking of buying an R3. Looking through the manual, there are a few questions I have that I can not find answers for. 1. It seemed to me looking through the manual, that the envelope that controls the filter can be made to have no effect on the filter and at the same time can be routed to other pl...

Plus does anyone have any idea of the validity of this random claim made by this web blogger? Could be a hoax.

Re: New synth from Roland?

Hmm... Yeah, it seems the website assuming a module might be a good guess. Though I don't know how the guy could see under the tape from a photo. But you can see "ta" & "mo".. LOL. I can't be sure the box is the actual box for the new "mystery product". You can see that the first letter is a T. And...
