PreenFM2

Has anyone seen this thing? Anyone familiar with it? http://ixox.fr/shop/product.php?id_product=23 http://ixox.fr/preenfm2/ How do people think it compares to the DX7 with regard to ease of use/ sound creation potential? Europeans out there: I take it 185,00 Euro, means one hundred and eighty-five E...

I voted for Disco Demolition, did a good job sounding like it was from the 70's...

Also liked Gummy bear, Ponytail, Silver Facet and Cyberfish...

Re: Recording the Korg Ms-20 Mini using a Scarlett 2i4

Hi, I have the Korg Ms-20 Mini synth and I'd really like to start recording it onto my Mac. I have Logic Pro X, and am thinking of purchasing the Scarlett 2i4 USB audio interface. I'm a bit of a rookie when it comes to technology, I get kinda confused. I just wanna know - will buying this Scarlett ...

Re: New Moog Synth- Werkstatt

Hmmm. No soldering required, limited edition. Obviously they don't want the trouble of people complaining when they break it during assembly... Love the disclaimer... They tell you not to modify it, then go through how it is designed to be modified.... http://www.sonicstate.com/news/2014/06/09/moog-...

Re: New Moog Synth- Werkstatt

But people aren't looking at this in context. It may not have midi but it has cv control, and it is designed to be hack-able. It has more patch points then the microbrute. I mean that thing didn't even have a VCO out... It has a Moog filter... You could turn it into a Euro-rack module without to muc...

Re: New Moog Synth- Werkstatt

I wonder if that's just leftovers from moogfest or if the thing is actually in production?

300 bucks doesn't get you much synth wise, so I'd say it is pretty good value...

Re: Roland Gaia SH-01 vs. Korg R3 vs. Novation Ultranova

The Gaia also has a sequencer. The Gaia is monotimbral which means you could record say a brass patch into the sequencer as the bass, then play that back and play a lead with the same brass patch over that, but you could not use the brass patch for the bass, then play that back and do a string lead ...

Re: Question about Novation Ultranova & Roland Gaia

The Gaia has a phase sequencer (google it for more info). You could record a a sequence, then play it back, and play over it, with out any external hardware. However the Gaia is not mult-timbral. That means that say I have a brass patch, I can play a brass bass and a brass lead, but couldn't do a br...

Re: When will we see a new (non-DSI) analog poly?

I've noticed of late on a number of high profile music events covered on TV that the Roland Jupiter 80 seems very much to be a 'staple' polysynth, in the traditional sense, for high profile bands. Quite ubiquitous. I own a JP80 and despite the criticism it has received (arguably because of the name...

4 Op DX synths Vs 8 Op DX Synths

Getting a bit board of the analog subtractive model of synthesis and want to get a Yamaha DX synth and get some interesting sounds out of that. Not interested in software. I understand very Basic FM concepts. I would be more keen on buying one of the later DX series like the dx 100 mainly because of...

Re: What can a Roland JX-3P do without PG 200 programmer

Obviously the PG- 300 200 just makes editing the JX-3P easier and more "hands on" with regard to editing. That said, from what I've read it is a pretty simple synth. Manuals exist and while this may sound boring, should be read!!! A simple read through the manual unlocks a world of sounds!!! M...
