Re: ESQ-1 vs K3 vs DW-8000

I'd say out of the 3. The Kawai K3 has the best tone.. but most limited.

Re: Best Beginner Synth

best way to really learn is to find some sort of mono with no patch memory.. something not too complicated.

a Yamaha CS-10 would be perfect.

Re: What got you into synths?

A tie between LSD and MDMA.

These days I prefer 2-CE

no more "god factor"

I feel the Spark software is quite underrated.

Re: Roland's greatest synth?

Soundcanvas easy especially the one with no display screen. Mmmmmmmmmm I actually really like the SC-7. Sounds great of if you filter out the ear piercing high end.. great of mallet sounds ala Luke Vibert or something. The SH-7 is the best looking in my opinion, followed by the System 700. I think ...

Re: Akai AX-80 voice issue

well.. I went back to it and it works just fine.

I think the front panel is messed up or ungrounded somehow.. certain buttons take a certain touch to get them to work.

So, I'm gonna just let it be for a bit, but if I have the problem again I'm certainly getting the 3372

Re: Yamaha SY-77 vs Roland D-50

Do you offer your sounds for sale? Just grab'em when I'm not looking :D lol, j/k. They're freeware (the only restriction is you can't (re)sell them, but you're more than welcome to use them in new tracks) OMG! You're Neverending Story patch is what convinced me to buy a D-50 years ago... I see your...

Just use the tape808trigger sample from Goldbaby.

Can't remember but I think it's included in one of their free kits.

Re: Yamaha CS-5 vs Doepfer Dark Energy

I actually kind of agree... it's somewhere stuck in between.

When my old band had the CS-15. I preferred the Crumar DS-2 and Roland SH-7 for the biggies..

Re: Axxe vs CS-5

Axxe is better at leads... a very beautiful instrument.
But the CS-5 has that super fast LFO that the Axxe could never get near.

I owned both at the same time.. found myself using the Axxe more.

Re: Six Trak vs AX-60

Oh hello, .. if you use in it's goofy multi-mode, you can allocate the voices. as for STACK. That's more like unison.. but can't quite remember. To be honest tho, I've sold mine. I've kept my AX-60 tho.. and will never part with it.. but I did make a deal with a friend that if I die.. he gets it ;) ...

Re: Yamaha CS-5 vs Doepfer Dark Energy

I like the CS-5 I had, but I always wanted it to be a CS-10 instead.. like a parent that had a girl instead of a boy.. but in this case society accepted me to sell it.

CS-15 is just too much for me.. i like my mono's simple.
