Re: Syncing Mopho x4 sequencer to MIDI clk

To reply to the sequencer question, I'm using the sequencer on my MEK exclusively, all my MIDI connections just keep everything else in sync with it. From the responses here, it seems you need a gate of very long length from the MPC. Sounds like a hassle, hope you get it sorted easily.

Re: Syncing Mopho x4 sequencer to MIDI clk

Excuse me for asking what may be an obvious question, but you do have the Mopho set for receiving MIDI clock on the global menu already? I didn't see it mentioned, and it's the only reason I can think of that this wouldn't work.

Re: which analog synths complement your modern digital setup

Not sure I qualify, as a bass player first and foremost- but, I use a Blofeld as my digital "do it all" machine, and mostly rely on mostly analog monosynths for everything else. Moog's Phatty line, (any of them) are awesome for *that* type of sound, and the DSI line, Mopho, Evolver, etc are great ch...

Re: "Affordable" Modern Synth Showdown

Blofeld is actually a breeze to edit, very smartly set up UI. Yes, it can sound cold, but doesn't have to. I kept my Blofeld KB over a Virus KB, if that says anything.

Re: help me choose a virtual analog synth

One more vote for a Blofeld kb. Awesome machine, and even though it's not a knobby affair, programming is dead simple, and fast.

Couldn't you just use one of the LFO's on your Osc Amount? Iow, modulate the OSC. Level

Agreed with both above. You've got all you need for the time being. Learn everything you can about what you've got, there's a ton of possibilities already.

Good choice- that little Mopho is an awesome machine. And, the SOS articles mentioned above are a great resource. Just take your time, you'll be glad you did.

Slat wall is a type of wall used in retail, for display purposes. Iow, the thing you pictured is useless, unless you have slat wall in your music room.

Re: 4voice poly VS: mono poly, analog4, mopho4x, poly evolve

MoPho X4 will poly-chain with your Tetra for 8 voices. I like the DSI stuff a lot, but Stab is right, something not 100% right- in my case, setting the pitchwheel to an octave up/down makes the oscs go out of tune.
