Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

I wasn't aware of that Fred Mollin wrote a new theme for season 2 of "War of the Worlds". Are you really sure he did both the opening and closing themes? In any case, I think only the closing music ("Survival theme") has been released on CD. I have a CD with some of his music from "Friday the 13th:...

Re: Roland MT-32 Loading New Patch Banks?!

Wonderful! I don't have that program or an old mac so...is that bank available from the front panel of the unit? Or could I somehow access it from Logic with MIDI cc commands?

Re: Roland MT-32 Loading New Patch Banks?!

Yeah, I know about not being able to save patches, that's ok. The problem I'm having is playing the patches once I send them to the unit via sysex. Like, I know they're there, but how do I actually play them? Thanks!

Roland MT-32 Loading New Patch Banks?!

I just got a Roland MT-32 in a trade and found some free patch banks from Sierra games. I loaded the sysex data into the MT-32 but cannot figure out how to access those patches. I've gone through all of the banks and it's still just the presets. Does anyone have any idea how to get to those? I hooke...

Re: How often do you use hardware live, if at all?

I played my first gig 100% live a couple of days ago in Seattle. For the drone/ambient crowd. Used a Roland MC-50 to do the sequencing.

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

I'll put a couple cuts of the score on youtube when I have some extra time. It's very good.

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Micke, any idea what Bill Conti was using around 1990? I just picked up the Year Of The Gun score and it's mega synth heavy. Synclavier?

Re: Dark Analog Drone

5/18 at Kremwerk in Seattle
5/28 at turnturnturn in Portland
And probably 2-3 gigs in California in June (Oakland, LA, maybe central coast area)

I'm still working on the sounds and arrangement, I just needed to record the jams so I don't forget them.

Re: do any of you jam with other synth guys?

I have before and I'd do it again but it's difficult. Making electronic music is much more of a personal experience to me than jamming with traditional rock instruments. You gotta lug your gear to someone's place, hook everything up (5x the cords and power outlets needed than plugging in an amp), ge...

I recorded this live last night to cassette. A dark drone/ambient track I'll be playing live.

Re: Preview Of My New Album, Dark Electronic Film Score Stuf

That little preview sounds excellent! When I saw your username (under the title), I was like "I think I remember him," which was confirmed when I saw the Proteus 1 (& 2) in the list! I remembered some of the other nice tracks you posted, and was not disappointed with these snippets. I like your gea...
