Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Can't remember if this has been discussed but ALAN SILVESTRI'S "THE DELTA FORCE" Score.

Any idea what was used? Drum machine, couple of synths, maybe an emulator?

Re: have any groups made country music with synths?

I watched a video of Merle Haggard at Austin City Limits and the keyboard player had a EMU Emulator and maybe a Prophet 5 (along with a stage piano). The performance was from the early 80's I believe. Also, I believe Steve Earle's "Copperhead Road" begins with a synth emulation of a bagpipe. [youtub...

Re: Question for Matrix 1000 users

Once you create a patch in the computer editor you can hold 'enter' (on the m1k) and then choose where you want the patch to be saved (as said before, 000-199) and hit 'enter' again - save the patch in the computer too, just incase ;) I like this synth a lot. It has a brassy character but it is also...

Re: The factory preset conundrum

Speaking of clearing banks...Does anyone know how to completely clear all the presets from the Blofeld? There are something like 1024 presets, and I don't want them. You don't have to do this all at once. Just initialize patch every time you want to create one on there and it will automatically sta...

Re: 4/8-Track Recommendation?

Jeeze guys...getting tapes isn't a problem. I have about 20 here I can use right away and ordering from NAC is a click away. Yes, they still make tapes and yes, they are easily available. I might just go for a Tascam 414, it's smaller so maybe it's not as sensitive. Really like the sound of those ni...

Re: 4/8-Track Recommendation?

That's why the 424 was so perfect. It has all the requirements that I'm looking for, I've just had bad luck buying them (only over the internet). If I could only find one at a pawn shop or something... If there was something that didn't have xlr but recorded stereo I would be interested. Recording i...

4/8-Track Recommendation?

I'm looking for a 4-track (or 8-track) cassette recorder. Capable of recording in stereo, accepts xlr cables. I've bought 3 Tascam 424 MK-3's and they have all been broken in various ways. I loved the sound but I need something sturdier and less finicky. Maybe in the $75-$150 range? Anything around ...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

I ripped the ROLF THEME from the S/T Chris J. King LP. Written by Fabio Frizzi and CJ King. Pretty rare theme as I've never heard this full track until I found a copy of the LP in Russia. Mellotron strings, Roland Jupiter-8, drum machine is...Linn? Oberheim?
